I made this card and mailed it to my Mom so that she could get some "happy" mail for a change! She called me last night crying because she was so excited & she went on and on about how cute it was and how wonderful it made her feel!! I am glad it made her day cuz I know she was getting bummed about her hip and the aftermath! She got an infection in the incision, and is on round 2 of antibiotics. The antibiotics made her mouth burn, raw and itchy kinda, so she didn't/couldn't eat for a few days! Now she is starting to get depressed because she is bored! She has finished 3 books and is tired of watching TV. I told her to play crib with Dad, but she says he won't! I bet he will!! She can't do the crossword or Sudoku puzzles we bought her because she gets frustrated when she can't find the words (she had a stroke about 8 years ago, and struggles daily for simple everyday words). I feel so bad for her, so I wanted to cheer her up!! We are all going over to visit on Sunday so hopefully that will brighten her week! I was going to spend a few days of my Easter break with her last week, but I was so sick, I didn't dare give it to her! That's all she needed!! UGH!!!
Anyways, the card is made with one of my newest Tildas - Summertime Tilda. I used a white card base, and Taken with Teal CS to match the DP. The DP is ... hmmmm, I can't remember!!! LOL I know it is SU though! I will edit later to add the name of it. I paper pieced her dress with teal DP (maybe from the same line?? I dunno!!!) and coloured the rest of her with pencil crayons. I added stickles to her wings and the flowers. The corner punch is an old SU punch called Wrought Iron - I love it, and it holds a special place in my heart because I used it for my wedding invitations (3 years ago yesterday!!!) It was the first SU product I ever bought!!! I cut out the little ribbon ends out of Taken with Teal paper because I didn't have any teal coloured ribbon that matched! I kinda like how it turned out. I actually got the idea to use paper from
Donelda...thanks friend!!! :)
