Scene cards

Katharina has a challenge on her blog to create a scene card. I was intimidated by this challenge because her cards are SO beautiful! She makes AMAZING scene cards & they flow together so nicely. As I was sitting here wearing out the gears on my brain (man does it STINK in here!!!), I remembered making a couple scene cards awhile ago. I don't know if they'll count in her contest to win STRETCH, the cutest giraffe from High Hopes, but I wanted to share them anyways, cuz I do quite like them! Both cards coincidently use High Hope stamps - which I absolutely ADORE!!! I just got my HUGE order on Friday with all my new jungle stamps!! So cute, you MUST check them out!! And Tina is the sweetest person on earth, so kind!!! Anyways, enough blabber - here they are!!!

Card for my Mommy

I made this card and mailed it to my Mom so that she could get some "happy" mail for a change! She called me last night crying because she was so excited & she went on and on about how cute it was and how wonderful it made her feel!! I am glad it made her day cuz I know she was getting bummed about her hip and the aftermath! She got an infection in the incision, and is on round 2 of antibiotics. The antibiotics made her mouth burn, raw and itchy kinda, so she didn't/couldn't eat for a few days! Now she is starting to get depressed because she is bored! She has finished 3 books and is tired of watching TV. I told her to play crib with Dad, but she says he won't! I bet he will!! She can't do the crossword or Sudoku puzzles we bought her because she gets frustrated when she can't find the words (she had a stroke about 8 years ago, and struggles daily for simple everyday words). I feel so bad for her, so I wanted to cheer her up!! We are all going over to visit on Sunday so hopefully that will brighten her week! I was going to spend a few days of my Easter break with her last week, but I was so sick, I didn't dare give it to her! That's all she needed!! UGH!!!

Anyways, the card is made with one of my newest Tildas - Summertime Tilda. I used a white card base, and Taken with Teal CS to match the DP. The DP is ... hmmmm, I can't remember!!! LOL I know it is SU though! I will edit later to add the name of it. I paper pieced her dress with teal DP (maybe from the same line?? I dunno!!!) and coloured the rest of her with pencil crayons. I added stickles to her wings and the flowers. The corner punch is an old SU punch called Wrought Iron - I love it, and it holds a special place in my heart because I used it for my wedding invitations (3 years ago yesterday!!!) It was the first SU product I ever bought!!! I cut out the little ribbon ends out of Taken with Teal paper because I didn't have any teal coloured ribbon that matched! I kinda like how it turned out. I actually got the idea to use paper from Donelda...thanks friend!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!! :)

Multiple challenges all wrapped into two cards

These two cards were made for Taylor's cupcake challenge, SCS color challenge and a ladybug swap hosted by my friend Tracy on SCS. I started out with the colour challenge and thought I'd try out Taylor's sketch along with it. The colour challenge was to use Basic Gray, Soft Sky and Whisper White. The stamps I used for the cupcake card was TAC (The Angel Company) - it was a hostess set called Party Time. I coloured them using my SU markers and then used stickles to make them yummy looking!! I added soft sky ribbon to tie it all together. I did fix the knot after I took this picture cuz it was bugging me that it was crooked!! LOL I used the SU scallop punch and the Marvy circle punch.
The ladybug card was made with Papertrey Ink's set called Little Lady; the "happy Spring" is from a cube stamp I got from Inky Antics last year. The ribbon was in a huge box I bought from Costco awhile ago. I added stickles to the middle of the red flowers for a little sparkle!!! The paper is non SU - not sure the brand, sorry!!!

Papertrey meets Beate's sketch challenge!

This card is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge 41.
