BEE Kind....leave a comment!!! LOL

Here are 2 cards I made for Heidi & the team at Simon Says Stamp. They will be in the next Design Team package I send to them.
This was the first one I made using my new set from Simon Says Stamp exclusives called "bugs - enjoy the little things". The layout is simple, but I like the colours! I used Yo Yo Yellow as my base, the DP is unknown (from my stash!), Lovely Lilac and Groovy Guava paper. The flower brads are from Michael's. I coloured the bee then added stickles to his wings.

This next card is a Z fold card, so fun to do!! I used Yo Yo Yellow again and the DP is the stuff I won from MichelleO's blog - Heidi Grace Halloween kit (it is hard to tell, but the dots are glittery on the paper...soo cool!!). I used a white gel pen to draw the dots on the scallop circle, added sugar coated brads from doodlebug, then pop-dotted the bee to give him dimension. It is hard to take a good picture of funny fold cards without a shadow, so I took another one of it open. I hope you get the idea!!! After I took these pictures, I added googlie eyes to the bee as well! Sooo cute!!!

Thanks for visiting & for all your comments! You guys are GREAT!!!!! Enjoy!

Paper bag cards

Ok, I TOTALLY cased this card from DEB....I apologize but wanted to get the feel of these cards before I attempted one on my own. She sent me one for my birthday VERY similar to this one! This is the front of it, held closed with a velcro dot. The colours are hard to tell (GRRRR camera) but they are Not Quite Navy and So Saffron. The punched edge is my new All Fleurs embossing border punch from Fiskars.
This is the inside of the card - I used rub ons for the very first time on my cards and kinda like them! I messed up the flourish a bit, so I just covered it with a flower! Shhh, don't tell anyone! The stamps are all Magnolia except the "For You" - it is from the SU Mini Mates set. The primas are all from my stash!

I don't know why the first picture is so yellow but the second one is fine - I took them with the same camera, same setting, same time (20 seconds later)......FRUSTRATING!!!! Anyone else have a small digital camera that can give me some tips? It is a Canon Power Shot A590IS - brand new, so still learning about it. What setting should I have it on so the pictures aren't so yellow? I have it on Auto, with the macro on, and the flash. I've also tried it without the flash. ARGHHHH!!!!

I love CRATE PAPER!!

I received this package of Crate Paper (Twirl) from Simon Says Stamp WELL over a year ago, and finally decided to open it up and use it (I WASN'T hoarding.....LOL.... ok, maybe I was!) The base is a cranberry colour that was in my stash (it's not crate paper) but the rest is. The pink, the floral, the brown and the green. Crate paper is double sided, textured DP and is a nice thickness. I LOVE IT!!! So, I copied a layout from a birthday card I received and made these 2 cards for birthdays. I can't tell you who the first one is for because I know she reads my blog. This was an image given to me by my friend Char, I think it might be Sugar Nellie but I'm not 100% sure! I just thought she was adorable all dressed up! The second one is for Diana Crick, the owner of Scor-Pal and Magnolia-licious. This stamp is Tilda with bird - one of my fave's!!! I coloured both images with gamsol and my koh-i-noor pencils. The cards are 5 1/4 inch square.

A couple more birthday cards still trickling in!

This card is from Monika from my Tilda & Friends group. It is a pop up card - comes totally flat in an A2 envie, then pops up like this...cool eh??
This card is from my good friend Kelly! I love the bright colours and that bee is ADORABLE!!!! I love how you put the DP inside too, very clever!!!!

THANKS!!!!

I had to make more birthday cards! (will it ever end??)

This one is for my sister-in-law, who's birthday was back in July but we are only got together yesterday to celebrate hers, mine and my brothers' birthdays. The card base is Not Quite Navy and the DP is Crate Paper; the orange is from my scrap stash. The cupcake and the sentiment are from Michael's $1.50 bin. I added stickles to the cupcake to make it look yummy!

This card is for my brother, but his birthday isn't until Sept. The card base is Going Gray, then I matted it with Really Rust. I stamped the wall with Really Rust and then stamped the grafitti in black over top of it. I used Greaser Edwin, not because he looks like my brother (he doesn't!) but because I wanted to use these together, and I hadn't inked any of them up yet! SHAME on me!!! I dirtied up his face and t-shirt a bit. I coloured him with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol. The black brads are from the dollar store.

Another anniversary card!

I made this one for my parents, to go with the gift that my siblings and I bought for them (a new set of cordless phones!) They are both 76 years old, and not very "techy", but we did get them set up with the voice mail service through the phone lines (which was SO hard to convince them that it is much more reliable than an old answering machine), but now, when they are on the other line talking, it goes right to voice mail so people can leave a message. My Mom doesn't know how to check them, or doesn't think to check them after she gets off the phone - so this new set blinks if there is a message. Hopefully that will help!!! LOL She always calls and gets mad at us because we didn't call her back (when we did, but she was on the phone and didn't check her messages!) I coloured these cute porcupines with my SU pastels & inked up the letters with Apricot Appeal. I added some stickles to the hearts and the little stars.

Supplies:
Stamp: Prickly Love (Rachelle Anne Miller)
Paper: Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery (both SU)
Ink: Palette noir, Apricot Appeal,
Accessories and tools: heart folder & my Cuttlebug, bashful blue ribbon, self adhesive letters from Making Memories (got them at Michael's)
