Gift set

I made this gift set last week as part of the Housewarming gift for my brother and his GF. There are 4 cards exactly the same, the card satchel and matching envelopes. I used Bareback, an SU set that I love!!!! And they are horse people so they will love it! The DP I used is Outlaw from SU. I distressed all the edges of all the papers.....my fingers are GROSS!!! LOL

Here is a close up of the card.

Here is the satchel and the envelopes. The satchel closes with a piece of velcro, the button is just there for looks!!!

Housewarming card - PARTY ANIMALS!!!!

Remember back in college, when a "housewarming" party really meant a "get drunk and trash the house" party? I never did that but I know people who did - they were never invited to my house!! LOL

Anyways, this card was made for my brother and his GF who are in the process of building their dream house on some acreage outside of Edmonton, Alberta. I am SO jealous, but so happy for both of them!!! It is going to be beautiful!!!
I used 3 of the High Hopes new releases which were farm animals and OH SO CUTE!!!!! I even used my STAMPAMAJIG!!! Yahhh me...I never use it unless I absolutely HAVE to!!!! So, cow is balancing on donkey and goat is dancing under cow.....don't they look like they are having a BLAST??? LOL
My sister and I must have spent about 45 minutes in the card aisle at Wal Mart listening to all the cards and dancing - this card plays "Celebrate" by Kool and the Gang (remember that song?? love it!) and it WAS a birthday card. I just covered the front and the inside with my own cardstock to match the colours of the base and VOILA - my very own singing card!!! LOL
Here is the inside sentiment I typed on the computer...it is totally cheesy but it fits so well with the animals, don't ya think? LMAO HORSE is supposed to be crossed out!! LOL

So the gift we bought them to go with this is a HUGE Cowboy boot planter and a plant (not bought yet, I will wait until they are actually IN their house before we do that cuz I might kill it!) Seriously, this cowboy boot is HUGE, like 24 inches tall and about 12 inches long. Tim was so embarassed when I was walking through the store with it...LOL...I love it! It fits their personalities and the decor of their house so perfectly!!!!
Thanks for visiting...I should be home from my shopping trip tonight sometime so will post tomorrow - maybe with some pics of the goodies I bought....wheeeeeeee!!!!

Tilda by the pond

I used 3 different Magnolia stamps to create this scene - a summer background, the log and of course Tilda. This is for the April Mingle on the Yahoo Group I run the activities for. The recipe was to use 3 flowers, 2 ribbons and 1 button. Challenging, and I thought of it...LOL Not sure who it is going to yet, but hope they like it!!!

Simon Says.......RECYCLE!!

This week it is my turn to choose the theme for the challenge over at Simon Says Challenge Blog, so head on over there to read more and to enter your card!!! The theme for this challenge is to RECYCLE!! Use something on your project that has been recycled - packaging, ribbon from an old chocolate box, a piece of fabric from a favourite pair of jeans, bubble wrap, buttons from old shirts, cookie tins, cello wrap, etc. Here is the card I made:

I used a ribbon from an old chocolate box and a button from an old shirt that went into the rag bin. The thread inside the button was found on the floor in the basement...LOL (yes, I need to vacuum) ...I'm sure it was on SOMETHING!!!!! Thanks for looking, now head on over there and check it out!!!! Thanks for your comments!!! They DO make my day!!!

BUUUURRRRRPPPPP!!!!

That was the original sentiment I was going to use with this card...LOL!!!! I combined three SQUIGGLEFLY images for this one....Kuruku bird (made reallly small), Kuruku Loo, and a speech bubble (free download). Nothing fancy about the layout, since there is a lot going on in the scene!!! The GREAT thing about Digital images is you have the power to play with them, make them smaller or bigger. It was really fun to make!!!!

I am heading out of town tomorrow, for a few days - shopping trip with my sister. We are heading south of the border, to Great Falls, Montana! The dollar is kinda crappy but she & I both want to get away! I have all the craft stores mapped out already but if you are from there, or know of any GEMS, please let me know!!! I need to do some Spring & Summer clothes shopping - since I lost the 35 lbs, nothing I wore this time last year fits - which is a good thing, but now I have to shop!!! LOL Ahhh well, such is life!!

I have a scheduled post for tomorrow, announcing CHALLENGE #2 on the Simon Says Challenge blog, so please be sure to stop by and check it out! I might even have a post or two for the other days I'm away!! Guess it depends how much time I get to create in between laundry and packing!!!! So, come back and check! I will be home Friday night - so I will catch up on blogs then!!!! THANKS for stopping by!!!

Extra Large Martini - shaken not stirred!

This image is from Squigglefly - I enlarged it so it fit on a 6x6 card. Can you tell I needed a drink that day?? LOL
I used Crystal Effects on the whole glass to give it a shiny smooth texture, and put stickles on the bubbles! I thought this would make a good GUY card so I kept the colours neutral! Here is a close up of the glass, hope it is not too blurry to see the glass!
You can get this image and LOTS more at www.squigglefly.com so head on over there and get started on your Digital Image Obsession!!! LOL
I wasn't sure at first if I'd like them, but once I started, I CANNOT get enough! They take up NO storage space in my room and they are CHEAPER than rubber!!!! Cannot go wrong with that at this time with the economy the way it is!
Thanks for looking - have a great day!

Magnolia overload

NOT that that is a BAD thing - I had a bunch of images coloured and when I cleaned up my craft room last weekend, I decided I would keep them out & close to my desk so I would USE them!!! HERE are the cards I made with them!
This is a Z-fold card with Edwin. I wanted a cute boy/teen card for my nephew's birthday, so I used shades of blue. Inside is a piece of blue vellum I used off the back of an envelope I recycled and attached it with brads. I stamped it with Stazon. Here is a top view of the fold:

Here is Tilda with Chicks - I used the Our Creative Corner sketch again - it seems to be one I go to often - I really like it!!!! There is yellow flock on the chicks too but you can't see it very well!!! The paper is from some pre-printed cards I got in a box from Michaels - I just cut them up and used the paper!

Here is a pocket card I made using Tilda with lamb. I saw TWO ROBINS on Thursday so I HOPE that is a sign that SPRING is RIGHT around the corner (PRAYING!!)

THANKS for looking!!! Have a GREAT day!!!!
