Incy Wincy Designs... Punches & Dies

This week at Incy Wincy Designs, our challenge for you is to use PUNCHES or DIES to cut shapes! You can use Nesties, Die-namics, Sizzix, Quikcutz, etc. or any punches you have!! This week we are being sponsored by Peggy Loves Vintage & she gave us some images to use....so much fun!!!! I know vintage isn't my "forte" but I kinda like how this one turned out. The papers I used are from a K & Company pad I got at Michaels. I used a paper doiley (spritzed with Vanilla Breeze Glimmer Mist), paper punched flowers (out of the same DP) and pearls.

I printed 3 copies of the image and popped up the tulip and daffodil, which you can see here:

And now my butterfly. I am tickled pink with this butterfly!! And I'll tell you why! About 6 months ago, I bought a pack of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glass cuz I thought it was cool. It sat on my shelf for .... umm, about 6 months! LOL I finally decided to use it, so I went online and googled what to do with it. I got to the Tattered Angels site with some videos & watched a couple. Lo & Behold, you can melt these little plastic bits and mold them however you want.... how freakin' cool is THAT??? So, I took the butterfly, and heated her up with my heat gun, and molded the wings to look like it was flying off the card. Once it cooled off, it stayed that way.....until you heat it again! SOOO COOL!!!!! Then, I sanded it up a bit to give it texture, then spritzed it with Yellow Daisy Glimmer Mist. I didn't like that effect so I wiped it off a bit, and some yellow stayed in the grooves, and I LIKED that effect! I am sorry that you can't see it very well!!! Then, I used a bit of crystal lacquer to adhere the plastic butterfly to my card!

Here you can see how I bent the wings:

Ok, that was a long post!! Phew! Sorry about that!!! Anyway, I hope you will head to the Challenge blog to see the rest of the DTs creations & to see where you can pick up a FREEBIE from Peggy Loves Vintage. AND PLEASE, join us this week!!!!

It is a holiday here in Alberta - Family Day -so I'm going to go hang out with Tim & the "kids"!!
Have a great day!!!

Karen's Doodles challenge - Masculine cards this week!

This week's challenge at Karen's Doodles is to make a masculine card! I am finding them much easier now that I have some "proper" masculine papers! It is so easy to make frilly, flowery pretty cards, and much more challenging (for me anyway) to make a "dude" card!!! But having some good masculine papers REALLY helps!! This paper I used is Tim Holtz's RETRO GRUNGE paper. I LOVE it!!!!

Soooo, this week I made a birthday card for my little nephew who just turned 3. He is into dinosaurs so I used DRAGON VALENTINE (I know, not a dinosaur, but he's close! AND ohh so cute!!!) The CS is Emerald City from Bazzill and the buttons & twine are from my stash!

I hope you will join us this week!

We are opening up the challenge to everyone whether they use a KD image or not. However, only those using KD images will be entered to win the Top Card of the Week prize. So now there is NO excuse not to join us!!!!

You can win the following prizes:

1st Place - 3 Digi stamps of your choice from Karen's Doodles and Card of the Week Blinkie, awarded to the best entry
2nd Place - 2 Digi stamps of your choice from Karen's Doodles
3rd Place - 1 Digi stamp of your choice from Karen's Doodles

THEN, head to the Doodle Diva Gallery and enter your card there for a chance to win MORE prizes!!!!

Have a great week!!

The Corrosive Challenge Blog - Magical Creatures

This week at The Corrosive Challenge blog, we want to see your MAGICAL CREATURES - fairies, elves, gnomes, angels, leprechauns, mermaids, monsters, and YES, even DRAGONS!!!!

This dragon and sentiment are both from High Hopes - they have the cutest dragons ever!!!! The CS is from SU - Bashful Blue and Sage Shadow. The DP is Tim Holtz's RETRO GRUNGE paper pack. I used a sketch that I found in my binder of sketches & I think it works perfectly with this guy!!! AND I love how he is holding the 2nd part of the sentiment!

I am sending this card to my nieces & nephew in Australia - just because!!!!

I hope you will head over to the Challenge Blog and join us this week!! There are great prizes to be won each month, so go check it out!!!

Happy Sunday!!
