2 Cute Ink Showcase time!!!

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been MIA lately......life just got ahold of me and before I knew it, it was Christmas time! YIKES!!!!  I have started my Christmas tags for next year already (NEED to be on the ball!!!)  and decided to use these cute chipboard stars I have and Ice Skating Penguin.  He is coloured with Copics.

Snow Fun!

I made this card a couple weeks ago while I was home - snowed in!!!  Calgary got hit with a nasty blizzard and a LOT of snow! AND it was COLD!!!!  (-39 Celcius) so I took advantage of the day and got my Christmas cards done and ready to mail!!!

 I have used images from Digi Garden in honour of Jacqui, the artist.  I know you're smiling down on the crafty world, Jacqui! We miss you!

 I have made a side step card, and made it look like a snowball fight!!!  This one was really fun!!! The "snowballs" are just a tiny circle punch!!

Sexy in Blue!

Hey everyone! Been awhile - sorry!!! I was cleaning up my files and came across some cards that haven't been entered into any challenges, so thought I'd see what I could manage with this card.....still lots of Christmas challenges on the go!! SO, I am going to enter this into the following challenges:

This is a Stamping Chef image, can't remember what her name is though..... and I used some ribbon, flowers and rhinestones from my stash.  The back piece is embossed with my D'vine swirls folder!

Sassy Studios FACEBOOK Challenge....come check it out!!!!

I am switching gears with the Sassy Studios Design Team! I'm now on the FACEBOOK Group!!!!  YEAHHHH!!!!!!  Our next challenge will begin on Dec 15th and run through Jan 14th.

The theme is "Show Your folds" -  so it can be in your colouring of the folds of her dress or in your actual card design - create folds step card, criss cross, tri fold etc

 The image for the month is Katniss Girl of Fire Sassy - so very appropriate since I just saw the movie yesterday!!!!  SO GOOD!!!!   See below how you can get your FREE Katniss image!!!

 Here is my card - I have done a Z-fold card, it is one that an old blogging pal designed, but I cannot find her blog anymore!  I can't take the credit for the design, but Christine in Edmonton can!  :)

HERE is my card, using HANGING THE WREATH and UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE background!  

Thanks to my Sassy Sister Kitty, I was able to combine the background and the image so it looked like she was hanging the wreath above the fireplace.  Kitty helped me erase the original wreath that was there! Thanks!!!! I have coloured it all with Copics, added some 3D white paint to the window to look like snow, some orange stickles to make the fire look "flickery", and a lot of silver stickles on the tree and wreath.  I really love combining images to make scenes & that is why png files are so awesome to have!!!  This was a fun one to colour!!!

2 Cute Ink SHOWCASE day!!!

Hello everyone! I have started my Christmas tags for my students and decided to use Snowman Boy and Snowman Girl from 2 Cute Ink.  I have 21 of them to make, so here is just one that is finished - it was my prototype!!! Now to make the rest!!!  I added a bit of 3D white paint under him for snow.

Incy Wincy Challenge - make an EASEL card

    Good morning!!!! 

This week the Incy Wincy Design team has a GREAT  challenge for you...make an EASEL card! There are a ton of tutorials online for a variety of easel cards, here are a couple to get you started:

THREE - pinterest

I've made a ton of square/rectangle easel cards, even dabbled with some circle easel cards....but thought I would try a DIFFERENT shape this time!  I googled a bee hive shape, printed it off and cut it out in the pieces I needed for my easel card.  Wasn't as difficult as I thought!!!  AND I think it turned out cute! I could have done the black lines a bit better..........but really...is a bee hive perfectly straight???

I have used Winter Honey Bee from Lacy Sunshine - one of our sponsors this week!!  She is what inspired me to make a bee hive Easel card!!! The sentiment is computer generated.  She is coloured with Copics and the only embellies I used are a scrap of bee ribbon I'm glad I saved and a tiny little flower button!!!  Not sure it needs anything else, do you???

For this challenge you are to create a CHRISTMAS project ..... BUT...... you can't use RED or GREEN!!!!  So lets see those non-typical Christmas cards & projects!!!! 

So, here is my card for this challenge. 

This card is for my brother who is a huge Trekky!  The sentiment says Merry Christmas in Klingon.....thank God for Google!!! LOL 
The chipboard ornament was spritzed with Glimmer Mist and then some silver stickles were added.  I know Uhura is supposed to be in RED, but since the challenge states NO RED, I put her in blue instead!!!

Dare to be SASSY Thursday........... Veteran's Day/Thank you

Hey everyone! 

Welcome back to another DTBST!!!!!  

 For this challenge you are to create a Veteran's Day card - or something that shows pride in your country - colours, flag, military, etc.  I don't really know any Veteran's to give a card too, but I decided to make one using Air Force Honey and just make it a general Thank you card.  

Even though I'm not American, we celebrate our Canadian Veterans on Nov. 11 and we call it Remembrance Day.  It is a Statutory holiday in Canada so we get the day off of work (well, most people do!!) I imagine it is the same elsewhere too, so if you're off work today (or if you're not - I won't tell!!), please take a moment to remember all those men and women who have sacrificed SO much for our freedom.

    Good morning!!!!

And here is my card, using an image from our sponsor, Sassy Studios.  This is Steampunk Vivian and she is coloured with Copics.  Isn't she gorgeous??  Love this image!!!!  
The keys are Maya Road chipboard, spritzed with glimmer mist, the background is a cuttlebug embossing folder and the little bits are Tim Holtz antique hardware (ones on the left) and Stampin Up hardware (on the right).  My fibre is the silver string.
