How exciting!!!

My sister, who is a teacher, just got accepted to do a Teacher Exchange in Australia for next year. So, her hubby, her 3 kids and her are packing up and going to Queensland for a year in Dec. The teacher she is replacing there, comes here and lives in her home and teaches her class. I am thrilled for them all, but I will miss them terribly!! I HOPE to be able to go visit in July of next year, as it is really the only time I can take 2-3 weeks off. I HOPE I can save enough $$ to make it, it is a GREAT opportunity - once in a lifetime!!!! I know it is winter in Australia, but it is still WARMER than our winter here!!! Anyone from Queensland that can tell me what the weather is REALLY like in July and August??? Maybe tell me 4 or 5 things you HAVE to see when in Australia?!?!?!

Anyway, I made this card for them, and I will give it to them before they go with their home made journals I will be making (have the journals, just have to cover them and personalize them). I will post them when they are done too!!!

I used Safari Tilda (you can get her at Simon Says Stamp) and some papers that I got in a card kit swap. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Chris

YOur card is beautiful Chris, good luck to your sister, what a fabulous opportunity for her! Hubby just got back from a trip over there and was in Queensland some of the time, he didn't take a jumper or jacket as obviously it was so hot here, just didn't think, still it was lovely during the day but his last night was frosty! hugs Debx

Your sister is very lucky. I love Queensland, actually my parents live in North Queensland. Yes you are right the Queensland winter is far more comfortable than what you experience. In fact its nicer up there than in Adelaide. The days are usually quite sunny although they can have some wet days. The nights can get very cold. Brisbane is alot cooler than the Far North.
Up north during winter you can get away with shorts and t-shirts and a jumper at night.
Top 5 to do in QLD
1 Great Barrier Reef
2 Cape York (if you like camping)
3 Daintree National Park
4 Gold Coast Hinterland
5 Central Queensland (Longreach, Birdsville)
Top 5 in Australia
1 Great Barrier Reef
2 Sydney Harbour
3 Uluru
4 Kimberleys (Far North WA)
5 Tasmania Cradle Mountain
I hope this helps
Angie
