Our blizzard

Hi everyone! On Friday, we had a HUGE snowstorm! It was unbelievable! The snow and the wind and the drifts......I wish I had pics of the drifts but I hunkered down at home where it was warm! I DID however, have to take Brick out, because he is NUTS if he doesn't get any exercise. This is the pathway between our fence and our garage - the drift was over the 6 foot fence!!!

This picture makes me giggle. The wind was so strong, it was lifting up Brick's ears, his face was covered in snow from chasing the Frisbee into the snowdrifts, and he had this HUGE grin on his face!!! He only lasted about 10 min. then he wanted to go in too, but I'm glad I was able to snap this picture! My fingers were frozen but it was worth it!!!!

Brick chasing the Frisbee - see the big drift behind him? That is SMALL compared to some around the city!!!

He loves his Frisbee, no matter how cold!!!!

Mean Mommy, throwing the Frisbee in the bigggggggg drift!!! LOL

And that's all.....just had to share a few pics of our nasty storm we had!!!! Enjoy the rest of the week!

Incy Wincy Designs - Challenge #21 - Christmas: SNOWFLAKES

This weeks challenge is SNOWFLAKES over at Incy Wincy Designs!!! How fun!!! I love SNOWFLAKES, especially those that aren't on the roads making them treacherous and slippery!!!! This weeks challenge is sponsored by June at Dezinaworld - very cool images!!! She was gracious to let the DT use one of her images called Snow Fur. This was SO out of my box, and I was so freaked out, but I just used a few blogging friends as inspiration and this is what I came up with! I was COVERED in ink from distressing....and I mean DISTRESSING EVERYTHING!!! LOL But I am quite pleased with how it turned out.....and it was fun and challenging to do something out of my "comfort zone"!!!

The papers are from a little paper pack I got at Wal Mart AGES ago, and the clear snowflakes and the die cut flourish I've had in my stash for ever!! The big snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch. See... I AM using up things I have!!!!! Yaaaa ME!!!! LOL

So, head to the Incy Wincy challenge blog and check out what the other Design Team members have made and Join US in this weeks challenge...snowflakes are EASY this time of the year!!!! There is also a great prize donated by June at Dezinaworld, a collage sheet of vintage images and sentiments!! GO CHECK IT OUT!!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a GREAT week!!!!
Chris

Corrosive Challenge - sketch

Here is the sketch we want you to use at The Corrosive Challenge blog this week. I really enjoyed using this sketch, it was simple, yet left a lot to work with! It works well with larger images and pretty paper!! Yahooo!!!!

And here is my card I made using this sketch:

It is a large card (5 1/2 x 8 1/2) because it is for my entire family to sign...and there is a lot of us!!! Every year for the last 13 years, my family has sponsored a residential home for recovering alcoholics. This home has 32 men who live there full time as they try to get jobs, education, etc. while at the same time, getting clean. Many of these men do not have families and might not otherwise get Christmas. The first year, we bought them a tree and decorations for the house, but each year after that, they each get a (LARGE) stocking FULL of things: magazines, socks, underwear, toothpaste, deoderant, chocolate, oranges, etc. The looks on their faces when we pull up with the stockings is priceless! It makes their day & they can't wait for next year. It really brings out the true meaning of Christmas for me and my family - and makes us thankful for what we have, and that we have each other (even though we don't always get along! LOL)

Anyway, on to the card: The paper & ribbon are from my scrap box. I wanted to make it masculine so I used blues and greens. The polar bear is from Angel's Landing and the sticker sentiment is from a Christmas pad I got at Michael's a couple years ago. The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch & I just added rhinestones to finish them off!!

And that is it!!! LOL Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a great week!!!! Hopefully our BLIZZARD stops by tomorrow - I have to drive across the city for a meeting!!! EEK!!!!

A couple MORE Christmas cards....

I just wanted to share a couple more cards this week, which don't fit into any challenges or Design Team requirements!! I've just been busy!!

This first card is an Incy Wincy Designs image, which I totally love!!!! I coloured it with copics, sponged the sky and added crystal effects to the doors. The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set. You can get this image HERE!!! They are only $2......such a bargain! AND you get it right away!!!!

This second card is an image I had in my stash for a few months, I think from some Blog Candy I won - but I have no idea what company makes her, but she is GORGEOUS!! So pretty & so fun to colour!!! If anyone knows her "maker", let me know so I can give proper credit & "own" her!!! This card is a 6x6 and she was coloured with Koh-i-noor pencils and Baby Oil Gel! Stickles were added to her wings, and a Spica pen used for the dots around her & her wand.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to enter my blog candy draw!! You have until Tuesday to enter!!!!

Simon Says.... So Charming!!!

This weeks challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog is SO CHARMING!!!! All you have to do is use a charm on your card or project!!! I have used 2 camping charms (a compass & a canteen) that Heidi sent me in the summer in my goodie box.......she is so smart...she sure knows her girls!!!! I wanted to make a camping journal for some friends who also love camping. I almost wish I had kept this one for me and given them the one I made last summer!!! LOL Ahhh well!!!!

The paper is from Close to my Heart, and the images are all Magnolia - from the Pet Collection '09 - you can get all 3 stamps at Simon Says Stamp (jeep, Tilda & Edwin) - I know they are more "safari" type Magnolias, but it still works for camping (doesn't it?!?!?)

Don't forget - you can win a $25 shopping spree at Simon Says Stamp by entering this challenge so head on over to the blog to check it out & to see what the rest of the Design Team has made for you!!!!

Anyway, would love to see what you create with your charms! They are becoming ever so popular & I just bought a whole bunch from Simon Says Stamp!! Also, if you enter the SSS challenge, come back on Friday to enter my Friday Freebie - easy way to win free stuff!!!!

Enjoy the rest of your week!!!

A few more Christmas cards!!

Here are some more Christmas cards that I made while I was on my retreat last month. I think I ended up making 21 that weekend...not so bad!!! It's easy to get distracted though when there are other poeple making things....and I'm so curious!!! LOL I have coloured all images with KOh-i-noor pencils & baby oil!!

This image was a freebie from Pollycraft.....what a GREAT Santa eh??

This image is a digital image from Squigglefly - called ANGELICAT....isn't she gorgeous????

This image is from Pink Cat Studio - he is called Hootie Pie- Santa
Cute eh? I cut the circle with my largest Nestabilities circle, and added liquid applique to his hat & boots!

This is a Rachelle Ann Miller design called Cuddling. I used my friends snowflake punch and her pink pearls.....seems I forgot more than I wish to admit on my weekend away!! LOL Good thing she was prepared!!!!! LOL

This is a Sugar Nellie image I've had for a longggg time!!!! Someone stamped him for me probably 2 years ago & I just never got around to colouring him!! This card is a 4x4 card.

Thanks for hanging out with me for a bit!!!! Happy blogging!!!! And have a GREAT week!!!

I hope you will join us, we will have a GREAT prize, so head over to the challenge blog to check it out & to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for you!!!

Corrosive Challenge..... Christmas - Green & Red!!

This weeks challenge at Corrosive Challenge Blog is GREEN 'N' RED for Christmas!!!! Well.....I just happen to be working like a mad woman trying to get all my Christmas cards done and out in the mail!!!! This image is from Dustin Pike & I coloured him with my Koh-i-noor pencils and BABY OIL!!! Yup, you heard me right! I usually use GAMSOL, but I ran out, and I remember hearing people talking about using Johnson's Baby Oil GEL so I thought I'd try it! It worked great, but you have to make sure you only use a tiny bit on your stump, because it will get too oily on the paper! AND it smells sooo much better than Gamsol!!!!

Go check out the other Green & Red projects over at the blog...you won't be sorry!!! LOTS of inspiration over there!!!!! Hope you can join us this week too!!!!!
