New Home (I'm so proud of this card!!)

I made this card for my niece and her boyfriend who just got a house together. I wanted to send them a little housewarming card! I started with chocolate chip base, then added a piece of DP from my scrap bin (it is SU but can't remember which line), then a white layer. On this layer, I stamped a bunch of trees from Lovely as a tree in different colours for the background, and sponged the edges with chocolate chip. Now for the fun part!! I coloured the Magnolia house with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol then cut it out. I cut out the window panes and the door so that it opened. I took a piece of yellow (so saffron maybe??) and stamped the image of furniture stacked up from Loads of Love accessories (SU) in the window and the little dogs in the door, so it looked like they were sleeping by the front door (they don't have dogs but I know Carla wants one!) These stamps fit PERFECTLY in those spots, I was TICKLED PINK!!!! I attached the yellow pieces to the house with stampin' dimensionals so they looked 3D, then attached the house to the tree background with pop dots. I used yellow for a warm look, like the lights were on. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from Verve Visual's Wonderful Wishes set and cut it out, sponged it, and attached it over the door. It says "Wishing you the happiest of days".

Not sure if I've ever mentioned this trick, but when I get new stamps, I keep the rubber bits that are scraps from around the image. I use them as my pop dots! I peel off the red rubber side, attach some adhesive cuz it isn't always sticky, then attach the image! Cheap & reusing!!! I have about 4 zippie bags full!!! lol

Wow, you should be proud of this card. It is adorable! Great idea with the house, cutting out the windows and door that opens. Oh my goodness, everything about it is SWEET! I love it. I had to smile about the foam reusable pop-dots. LOL I do that too. I have a big zip-lock baggie full that I use from a little here and there. I have thrown a few away, but most I keep.
