Mojo Monday cards (a couple weeks behind!!)

I made these two cards using the Mojo Monday #44 sketch (Poetic Artistry) from 2 weeks ago, because it was cute!! It was fun too!! I also really like last weeks (#45) - but haven't had a chance to give it a go!!!! Today, I also made 2 paper bag albums to sell at the Farmer's Market. They were such a big hit at Christmas, and I only have 2 left, I thought I would make a few more so they have a variety to choose from. I will take pics and upload them later tonight or tomorrow. I'm not back at the Farmers Market until July 24, as I have a CFL football game this Thurs.night. GO STAMPS GO!!!! The last 2 Thursdays I was out of town, so it's been awhile since I've been. It gives me a chance to create some new stuff to try to sell!! We'll see how it goes!!!! Anyways, here are the 2 cards I made with Julee's sketch!

I'm home!!

I'm home and utterly exhausted!!!! I left Sunday night to head up to Edmonton, Alberta's capital city, to do some work for Alberta Education. I was marking Provincial Achievement Exams that all Grade 3 students in Alberta have to write in May. They are given a picture and are asked to write a story about it. The picture was of a little girl whispering in a boys ear, and behind them, was a classroom, with animals all over the place, dogs chasing cats, mice, snakes, rabbits, etc. So, needless to say, if I read ONE more animal story in the next little while I might cry!!! There were 150 teachers there marking 44,000 stories!! We started Mon. at 7:30 am and worked until 4:00 every day, and finished up today about 2:00!! PHEWWWW!!!!! It was really interesting - and a big learning experience for me professionally - I have a new sense of what needs to be taught to these kids next year! Boy are they in trouble!! LOL

I stayed in a hotel with 3 other girls and that worked out quite well, surprisingly!! It was fun! One night we went to West Edmonton Mall to shop, vegged a couple nights in the room, went swimming, and did a lot of walking!! That part was fun....here are 2 stories of events that weren't so fun:

I don't think I've ever talked about my bizarre food allergies before so here is my first story from the week: Some background info first: I am deathly allergic to carrots, celery, apples, nectarines, cherries, pistachios, snap peas, and a few other things & probably more that I haven't discovered yet. During the week, Alberta Education was supplying us lunch (I was a little worried about that). So, Monday at lunch, I go into the room, here is what I see: Beef Veggie soup with CARROTS, wraps with sandwich meat in them on huge platters STREWN with CARROTS, 2 huge veggie trays full of...you guessed it.... CARROTS!!! So I went to a little deli across the street, got a sandwich and sat under a tree and cried. I was sad to be away from home, and I was feeling sorry for myself (I know..pathetic!) but I was so emotional!!! Anyways, on Tues. the lunch was: Chicken pasta with CARROTS, tossed salad full of CARROTS, 2 huge veggie trays full of CARROTS, and carrot cake for dessert!! WOW, can you say PISSED OFF?? LOL I didn't even bother seeing what was for lunch the rest of the week - but reports told me it was alllllll full of carrots! I went out for lunch every day either by myself or with a friend! Sad eh?? It really makes going out for dinner interesting and I'm continually asking what is in something...it is annoying! BUT, it's either that, or I use my Epi-Pen which I totally DON'T want to do!!!! SCARY! And I hate needles!!!

ANYWAYS, second story: Parked my vehicle in the parking lot of the hotel and on Tues. I find a note on it, saying she hit my car with her mirror & to call her so she can pay for damages. I get out to look and almost fell over! Mental breakdown #2!!! There is a huge scratch about 3 feet long, and about 2 inches wide, and right down to the metal, plus a big dent! Hell of a mirror I'd say! Anyways, I called her, left a message - she called me back, left a message cuz I was working - I called her back (annoyed by this time & a bit scared that she is going to flake and I'll be stuck paying for it) then finally her HUSBAND called me! So, now I have to take time out of my summer to go find auto body shops, get estimates, fill out a police report, let them have my vehicle for a few days, all because of someone else's carelessness! NOT HAPPY! I know shit happens, and I am VERY truly thankful that she left her # (most wouldn't be so honest!) but it's just annoying and a hassle......not something I want to be doing! BAHHH!!! I will do all of this hopefully Monday as Tim said auto body shops are closed Saturdays..bummer!

Other than that glitch, the trip was good! I am soooo thankful to be home! I missed my boys!!! Off to unpack and hit the hay!!! (for you city folks, that means "going to bed" - LOL)
Hope to get crafting tomorrow!! I MISSED it!!!!!

I'm back!!!!

Hey everyone!!! I got back late last night and was tending to my 186 emails, mailbox full of goodies and a needy husband and cat! We had a fun week, but it's nice to be home! I will post pics of my trip later, when I have some time to download them off my camera! Brick slept the ENTIRE 2 hour drive home, he was EXHAUSTED! If you remember a previous post, I was complaining about how bad he is in the car - pacing, panting, whining, drooling, etc. BUT, after he's had 3 days of playing continually with the kids and running with the Quads, he was a tad bit tired!!

I just wanted to pop in and wish my American friends a "belated" HAPPY 4th of JULY!!! I wanted to post last night, but I was sooo very tired too!! I hope you all celebrated in style and are recovering nicely from a few too many drinks!! ;-)

I am off to do laundry, pack again for my next trip (work this time...not fun! Well, maybe a bit of fun after work though!) and get groceries! I am leaving Sunday night for Edmonton to mark Provincial Achievement Exams and will be home Friday night. I will have access to internet - I believe our hotel has wireless so I'm taking my laptop! I'm hoping to hit some good scrapbooking/craft stores while I'm there! Not sure I will have anything to post but I'll pop in and say hello!

Bella in the rain!

I'm still out of town...gosh I hope these are posting ok!!! Here is a card I made for a Bella swap I'm in. I used Billybootabella because I hadn't even inked her yet!! SHAME on me!!! I paper pieced her skirt and top out of the same DP I used...I love paper piecing, it is sooo fun!!! I made one of these cards with paper pieced rainboots too - with the flower DP - they looked so cute, but I sent them off and didn't take a picture of them...dohhh!!!! Her boots and umbrella are coloured with my faves...you guessed it.....my koh-i-noor pencil crayons and gamsol!! Can you tell that is my favourite method of colouring right now?!?!?!

Hopefully it is not going to rain this week, so I won't need my pink rainboots/wellies (I REALLY do have pink rainboots!!! I love them especially when I walk Brick)

Supplies:
paper: pretty in pink (SU); DP blue and flowers from Costco pack ages ago
stamps: Billybootabella (stamping bella)
accessories/tools: nestabilities (ovals); bashful blue ribbon; koh-i-noor woodless pencil crayons; gamsol & stumps; sponge

Another Tilda - I was on a roll Sunday with her!!! I am still out of town, so hopefully this posts on its own on Wed. I did end up putting stickles on her wings after I took this picture. The s.e.i. paper is sooo nice, the circles are embossed. The whole pack of paper is gorgeous, the colours, textures, patterns...love it!!! It is an 8x8 pack and I got it at Michael's when they had all their paper on for 40% off!! Wheeee!!!!

Supplies:
paper: Bazzill Basics - Apricot; s.e.i. "Oasis" pack (DP); bashful blue (SU)
stamps: Baking Tilda; warm words (SU)
Accessories/tools: hodgepodge hardware, small oval punch, chocolate chip polytwill ribbon, koh-i-noor woodless pencil crayons, gamsol & stumps, corner rounder

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!

To all my fellow Canadians, have a GREAT day - enjoy the sunshine and time spent with family and friends!!! I am heading out to my parent's cabin with Brick (Tim has to stay home!! boo hoo) for a few days, but I will be back Friday night some time! I am going to try this new Blog scheduler thingy and see if it works while I'm gone!!! Fingers and toes crossed!

This trip is an annual "sisters and parents" week (ends up usually only being 3 or 4 days though) so it will be me and my 3 sisters, my parents, 2 nephews and 2 nieces. It is relaxing and a nice way to spend time with Mom and Dad. The cabin used to have a great lake but over the years it has dried up. We still have the cabin and enjoy going out to get away! There is electricity but no running water, so to the outhouse we go! My sisters are all bringing their quads & the kids are bringing their dirt bikes out so it is fun to burn around the fields.I am hoping to get caught up on my scrapbooking while I'm there! Here's hoping! Brick LOVES it out there because he can run and run and run.....not like when we are camping and he has to stay on a leash! Out there he is free and the kids love playing with him - probably because like him, they NEVER stop!! Endless energy!! There must be a way to tap into that and get some for ourselves!! LOL

Anyways, if I don't get on here once more before I leave, have a great week & I will post again on Sat. before I leave for my next trip on Sunday night (this is a work trip - not a vacation!)
Cheers!

more owls!

Ok, only 2 more then I'll move on to something else - I promise! LOL This card is for a Friday Sketchers challenge # 8. I used one of the owls from Simon Says Stamp, and some scrap DP I had in my bin. The sentiment is from High Hopes and the primas are from my stash! I have TOO many primas - more than one person could ever use in their entire lifetime! When I die, sprinkle primas over my coffin ok?? LOL

This second card is for Friday Sketchers challenge #7 - I know I'm a little late but I liked the layout! I used another owl from Simon Says Stamp and added googley eyes to him! How freakin' cute is that??? LOVE this dude! The DP is also from my scrap bin! Both owls are coloured with my Koh-i-noor woodless pencil crayons (LOVE THEM...have I said that yet?? I do, they are amazing!!!)

Ismaki Challenge #25

I made this card for my fellow SBS4 sister Deb, she hasn't seen it yet, so SURPRISE!!! LOL I wanted to post it so I could enter it into the Ismaki challenge #25 this week! I used Baking Tilda and coloured her with my Koh-i-noor pencils (LOVE THEM!!!) and gamsol (OMS). The card base is yellow from my stash - might be Bazzill or it might be from Michael's...not sure! The next layer is DP from Imaginesce. The next layer is Certainly Celery, which I ran through my 'bug with the Swiss Dots folder. The next layer is bashful blue. The flowers are all primas - I love how they go down the side of the card - cute eh??? The brads are Sugar Coated Brads from Doodlebugs. I added stickles to Tilda's wings and the cookies. The ribbon is some random scrap piece I had in my tub of ribbon! I really hope Deb likes this card - she makes such FABO cards, I hardly come close to her calibre of card making! Anyways, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DEB!!!! Hope it was a good one!!!
