My notebook!

I was tired of losing my "sticky notes" of things I had to do, cards I had to make, swaps I needed to finish, design team stuff to do, etc. so I made a notebook for ME!!! It was fun to finally make something for ME!!! I made all those other ones to sell, but didn't make one for me! So, here it is! I used Soft Sky DP (SU), chocolate chip & soft sky cardstock. I sponged the edges with chocolate chip and paper pieced her dress with the same DP and coloured the rest of her with SU markers. I scrounged in my prima stashes (yes, I said stashes...I have so many primas I have to store them in several different containers...LOL) and found some blue that matched the soft sky and brown flowers to match the chocolate chip. I added the little yellow flower for punch! The brown scallop layer is actually my Giga marvy punch - I punched 6 of them, then pieced them together to make a large rectangle. Why I didn't use my nestabilities.....I'm not so sure!!!
I used my SU round tab punch to make the tabs inside to try to keep it a bit more organized. I wish I had made the pages thicker but that's ok, it will do!!!

Happy Birthday to me!!!!

I love birthdays, and I love stretching them out as much as I can!! I have been getting quite a few cards in the mail this week, from the SCS Birthday RAK, Tilda & Friends, and from other stamping friends. Here are the ones I've received so far: These 2 are from Maria and Heather. Gorgeous cards - the colouring on both are impeccable!!!
This one is from Berna. The DP is so pretty & the white "birthday wishes" is embossed!
This one is from Debby. The dimensions on this card are amazing! It's almost like decoupage, with the layers on top of layers....SOOo cool!!!! This one is from Shary. The colours and paper are so rich - it is a gorgeous card!!!

This one is from Caz. CUTEST cat stamp I've ever seen!!!!

This one is from the SCS Wish RAK Birthday Fairy - Diane. I love that Bella Rose paper!

This one is from Donalda Cox. Her little scene is sooo cute & the colours are so vibrant!!

This one is from Sue Lumber. This little ballerina is too cute!! The colours are so pretty!

This card is from Deb - it is a paper bag decorated so beautifully, you'd never know it was a paper bag. The first picture is the front and it opens with velcro. The second picture is the inside of the card, then on the back she wrote a birthday greeting. SO gorgeous!!! In the pocketare some Hanglar & Spanglar images she stamped for me. THANKS DEB!!!!

Thank you all so much for the gorgeous cards. It has really made my week!!!! Tim & I are off camping tonight so I will schedule a couple posts for the weekend! ENJOY!!!!

(we just got a new camera, so until I figure out the best setting for it to take pics of my cards, they will be a little yellowish...SORRY!!!! I will get it figured out SOON, I promise!!!)

Starting on my list of Things to Do...

Here are 2 birthday cards I finished up yesterday. The first one is for a friend but I can't say who cuz she reads my blog...tee hee!!!! It is in the mail today! ;-) This sketch was from Verve's AnniVERVEsary challenges, this is sketch #1. I used Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky (DP, CS and ribbon). I made the scallop with my corner rounder and poked holes with my paper piercer. The stamps are from Papertrey Ink - Beautiful Butterflies I think it is called. The rhinestones were sent to me by my good friend Donelda, just cuz!! She's great!!!
This second one is for my friend Maya, we are going for lunch tomorrow and a pedicure. It is an odd shaped card (7 1/2 x 4) for no apparent reason, I just wanted to use up the red piece of paper that was sitting on my table, and that is what size it was!! LOL The DP is Honey Pie from Cosmo Cricket and the stamp set is Hero Arts Cupcake set (Simon Says Stamp). I used glittery fabric paint for the icing (like liquid applique but found at Michael's..it is cheaper, doesn't puff out, but still has the same effect) and a rhinestone for the flower. The ribbon is some red scraps that I had in my Pull Ez holder....love that thing!!!!

Little ol' me??? FEATURED stamper???

Wheeeeeeeeeeee!!! Ok, I'm going to start calling Heidi at Simon Says Stamp my "ego booster"!! Seriously, the girl has featured me on the blog today - and made my ego so big I'm not sure I can get out of the craft room!!! HELP!!! LOL It is such a wicked feeling - I can't believe it!!!

She is such a great friend - even though we've never met!!! I was thinking about when her & I first started chatting - and it was probably about 2 years ago, I was a customer of her ebay store. I asked her in an email if she really was a "Simon".....lol.... nice eh?? Anyways, turns out she isn't a "Simon" - it makes me laugh when I think about it!!

Anyways, check out the blog - and listen carefully, you'll hear my ego expanding!!! LOL :)

Thanks Heidi - YOU make MY heart smile too!!!! ;-)

Off to the Car Doctor!

I am finally off to get my car fixed from the accident in Edmonton in the beginning of JULY!!! Sheesh!! I will have a rental vehicle for a few days - let's hope it's a fun car!!!! LOL

I spent all day yesterday rearranging my craft room - it looks a bit better but now I have to get used to where I put everything! I will try and get some pics today & post them! I bought a cool paper holder from a garage sale for $5, and it holds all my full packs of paper that I HAD to have because they were retiring (ummm, yeah, we won't go there!) ... the only bad thing is it doesn't hold the 12 x 12 papers that are completely overtaking my room!! Gulp!!!

I was able to create a few things - birthday cards for family mostly, and am now working on FOUR anniversary cards...tis the season I guess eh? I will take pics of those too later!

We bought a new camera on Saturday - our Sony was a piece of junk! The on/off button wouldnt' work and the pictures were really grainy! It was so frustrating! So, we got another Canon - they seem to be more reliable - our old one from 7 years ago is STILL working (big delay but that's ok for Tim's fishing camera!LOL) So far it seems great - I love it!! We are going camping this weekend for my birthday (leaving Thurs. actually) so that will be the true test!!! Can't wait!!!!

Have a great day!

Knock, Knock........

Ok, there is a story here.....ready?? My sister's cottage is under construction on the inside right now, so while I was there last week, there was only one bathroom and it didn't have a door. They had a sheet hanging for privacy (if you want to call it that! LOL) but when you wanted to go in, you had to just say "knock, knock" to see if anyone was in there. So of course, that led to knock, knock jokes....and to be honest with you, I am a terrible joke teller and story teller....so I had a couple reliable ones that I never forgot as a kid, and used those until they got sick of them. Well, my youngest niece Hailey, loved the jokes and wanted more. I kept retelling the same ones..... ugh!!! For the LIFE of me, I couldn't think of any others!! So....on our way home, I planned this book in my mind, to send to them, to hang in their bathroom, so they had a ready supply of Knock, Knock jokes! There were 20 pages, so they have 20 jokes. It was a LOT of work, but well worth it!!

The pages are coasters I "borrowed" from a restaurant (had to cover up the Coors Light logo though), covered them with DP, sanded down all the edges and corners then attached the jokes and stamps. I punched holes in all of them with my Crop-o-dile and used a binder ring to keep them all together. The DP is ALL from the Frutti Fusion pack from The Angel Company - I wanted it to coordinate, but didn't want it too girly or too boyish! I love the bright colours of this paper!
The first page used the Owl set from Simon Says Stamp (owl & sentiment). The owl is popped up and sitting on a piece of twine.
Here are a few pages to give you the "jist" of the inner pages. I just searched Knock Knock jokes on Google and got THOUSANDS! I used stamps, stickers, die cuts...whatever I could find that sort of corresponded with the joke!

I used my Marvy punches to punch the circles too.

The dragonfly is a punch! Sort of resembles a mosquito! LOl

Here's a few more!

I love this little old lady stamp (Gina K)

This is the last page of their book!

I made another smaller version for my Simon Says Design Team. This one uses just the owls from the Owl Knock Knock set. Same DP (TAC), same idea, fewer pages! These are very time consuming - and it destroyed more than HALF of my SU sanding block...LOL

Heidi, when you get this, and if you decide to photograph it for your gallery, I would like you to keep it for Jaxon ok?? :)

You Rock - Simon Says Stamp Design Team cards!

I decided to make some cards for Heidi at Simon Says Stamp, using the set "You Rock". This set is really great for all the music lovers in your life. It is a lot of fun to use and can be made feminine or masculine! For this first card, I used my Scor Pal to make the grid lines for the background and used Almost Amethyst paper and ink. The ribbon is from Michael's and is 2 different purples. It is a 4x4 card.

This card is 9 x 41/4. I used Garden Green and Very Vanilla. The music note border stamp comes with the set, it is so cool!! I really "blinged" up the card with rhinestones from Hero Arts (purchased from Simon Says Stamp), some silver cord, a silver star and some stickles!!
This card is a Z-fold card and I used More Mustard and Handsome Hunter (you can't tell, but that square under the guitar IS green!!) Inside the card (below), I used a sentiment & the oval stamp with stars from Starlight, Starbright from Verve Visual. I also blinged up the guitar with stickles!!
These cards are on their way to you Heidi!!! Hope you all like them!!!
