Feathers......take em or leave em??

I am unsure about feathers.... I have seen tons of cards that use feathers and they turn out SO beautifully......I don't really think it is my "style" to add feathers....they just seem to "be there" - not really adding anything or giving them a WOW factor.  What do you all think?  Do you use feathers? How do you use them on your cards??

I made this card using a Saturated Canary image - I think it is called Tourist, but I can't find her in the shop anymore.  I made this for my best friend who is a photographer.  Back in the day of parties and drinking, we always referred to ourselves as "Tequila Cats" - we both love tequila & we both had cats....somehow along the road, it turned into Good Cat, Bad Cat... I of course ended up being the Bad Cat (NOT sure why!!! LOL) - which makes this card fitting for the Good vs. Evil challenge at Saturated Canary challenge blog.

And the side view:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Creative Moments - add a sentiment
Divas by Design - buttons & bows

Thanks for stopping by! Wish me luck!
Hugs,
Chris

Chris
Love your card, not sure about the feather.
I see you have a good blogging friend who really says what she feels. I have one like that and I appreciate her more than she knows for giving me constructive criticism.
As for feathers, I have a hard time with placing them. In my mind they go with something Victorian. I have used them but only on Victorian looking cards. Of course, that is only my opinion.

Fabulous work sweetie I have to say I love feathers but have to use them sparingly and I normally place them under flowers in a corner, they can be affective but I do think they are hard to use! Thanks for playing with us at Divas by Design this wk and of course Saturated canary hugs Rebekah xx

Hi Chris, have to say I'm like you - I love the look of feathers but feel they don't add much to any of my cards. Also, and this is one of my weird things - I don't like the idea of the birds walking around without them, please don't laugh I am that soppy!
Anyways the real reason I'm here, lol, thank you for joining us at Creative Moments #12 add a sentiment challenge. We really appreciate it and I hope to see you again at our next challenge. Peeps in blog land are going to think I'm even weirder now! Karen P CM DT (http://stampinginpink.blogspot.co.uk/ )
