Card submissions for Kelly's Design Team

My friend Kelly has a new stamping and scrapbooking store - HERE - and she is looking for Design Team members to help her out with some samples! Here are my submissions for it, I hope you like them Kel!!! You really should check out her store - she has GREAT deals, lowest prices I've seen on a lot of things and she is always throwing a deal or two your way!!!
I paper pieced Tilda's dress to match the DP. I distressed and sponged all the edges with Chocolate Chip, and added stickles to the rose. I think she is so pretty with her little pony tail!!
This was the Christmas card I gave my DH using Tilda and Edwin kissing. I popped out the mistletoe and Tilda & Edwin, then added some Christmas primas.

Here is Tilda with a newspaper - I envisioned her with her newspaper & Tim Hortons coffee, off to a job interview. I used Chocolate Chip and Purely Pomegranate paper & ribbon. The DP is SU, Berry Bliss I think, but not sure cuz it was in my scraps bin. The ribbon slide is from CTMH - chipboard slide that I coloured with copic marker R59 & then added stickles.
I took Kissing Tilda & Edwin and made a lovey dovey card - Valentines Day, Anniversary, or just cuz I love you card! I used Chocolate Chip and pink pirouette cardstock and the DP is from my scrap stash. The heart punches are from the new SU heart punch that I got with the Love you much bundle.
I popped them out and sat them on the ribbon, and decorated the inside with some more pink heart punches.

And the last one for my Design Team try outs - an anniversary card for some friends! I used purple and blue to match the Paisley paper (Making Memories) and used my heart nesties. I'm not crazy about the white lines in their hair - I was TRYING to add highlights - guess I need to work on that!!! LOL (ignore that part!!!)

I hope you like these Kel!! I'm sure you have a tough job ahead of you to decide!!!!

Baking Tilda

I was using up some more of those card kits from my workshops and this was one of them - a shaker card using the CD envelopes. The inside of the shaker is the kitchen background from The Stampin Place, coloured with Copics. Baking Tilda is popped out on the front. Inside the card is little flower confetti.

Shadow Box cards

I was cleaning out a box of card kits that I have collected after all my workshops (unused from people who cancel...grrr) and thought - HEY, why don't I use these up?? I found a bunch of already cut and scored shadow boxes, so I stamped em up! Here they are:
This one is made with a clear, mini Inkadinkadoo set I got from Simon Says Stamp.

This one is using a new Tilda I got and the new SU set called Love you much.

This one uses the hearts from Love you much, and the owl from Simon Says Stamp set. I made the flap on top myself!

Here is a top view of the shadow box, can't remember the dimensions but if you really want them, let me know and I will measure!! No biggie!!!

Some Christmas photos

This is our little tree! We had to get a little tree that would fit on a table because Brick kept peeing on our big tree....GRRRR!!! So this is it!!! I set up my nativity underneath it, but realize I now need a tree skirt - guess I'll be looking for one of those soon!! All of our ornaments are sentimental - given to us, or purchased at special places we've been. I made the angel when I was in Girl Guides - MANY years ago!!!! LOL

Brick is THOROUGHLY impressed that he has his Christmas collar on!!!
And his reindeer ears were worse!! Poor dog - but you'd think he'd be used to it by now!!!!!
Tim coming in from outside in the FREEZING cold!!!! It was about -36 degrees CELSIUS for about 10 days (give or take a few degrees) which is about -33 degrees Fahrenheit!!! OY!!!!! He was wearing my toque (winter hat for you Americans that don't know what a toque is!!!) to keep his bald head warm!!!
And this is me in my bellaclava that Tim bought me for walking the dog so my cheeks don't get cold. I kinda think I look like a bank robber! Aren't we dorks??? But man, it was NO fashion show around here when it is THAT dang cold!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

We had a great Christmas - I hope you all did too!!!! NOW I can truly relax and enjoy my holiday break!!!! I am off for some Boxing Day shopping - a Canadian tradition similar to Black Friday but not as insane (no one has died yet!!) There are lots of sales and good deals to be had! My sister & I go every year & look around, not looking for anything in particular - then it isn't so stressful!! I do need some photo paper for my NEW Canon photo printer Tim got me!! Wheeeeeeeee!!!! Maybe some new sweaters & a tree skirt, but other than that it's just for fun!!!!
Here is my ENTIRE family - all 21 of us!!!! Minus a lot of dogs!!! I'm the oddball wearing pink - traditional Christmas colours!!! LOL

And this is our traditional monster face picture!

Have a great weekend!! I have some things to share with you tomorrow!!!!

Christmas Dinner name tags

My sister & her son are hosting Christmas dinner this year - a feat in itself because my family is HUGE!! She asked me to make name tags for our dinner table on Christmas day & of course I said yes. I sat down and made a list so I didn't forget anyone & realized I had to make 21 name tags!! EEK!!!! Thank goodness I had several Magnolia images already coloured that I didn't use on my Christmas cards!!! The base is 5 x 2.5 and I just used scraps of green, red and blue. The alphabet I used was Storybook Alphabet and my Karen Foster snap stamps. Nothing too fancy as I had to make A LOT!!!! LOL

I used Magnolias, Hanglar & Stanglar, Stampendous Changito Cocoa & Changito Santa, Stampendous Gnome & Merry Pursuits (CTMH)

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Star Album

I made this album last night for my friend who just had her 2nd baby boy! It is called a STAR ALBUM and I got it from this website (thanks Donelda for the link on your blog - I totally found it by FLUKE!!!) There are SO many cool mini albums to make, I was amazed!! This one stuck out for me, as it is compact like a little album, but yet it opens up like a star (hence the name!!) LOL) that they can leave open and display like a frame. Anyways, I used SU papers and ink - Green Galore, Brocade Blue, Basic Gray and Garden Green, and the DP is Prestwick. I added a few embellies to finish it up! I am SO PLEASED with this album I can hardly stand it!!! LOL
Here is a closed view of the front cover - tied up. The stamp is from Stampendous (Peek a boo baby) Top view - see why it's called a Star Album???

This is the back page of the album. I had to block out the faces as I don't have permission to display photos of them, but you get the general idea anyways! It says "A star is born"

A couple of the pages inside.

Top-side-ish view - it was really hard taking pictures of this album (especially cuz my table is a DISASTER!!) but I hope you get the general idea of how it looks!! I left a few pages blank so they could add their own favourite photos - these are just the ones they emailed everyone after he was born!!! I hope they like it!!!! AND, it only took me about 4 hours from start to finish!!!! Not bad eh?? I was tickled pink - or blue and green!!!!
Thanks for looking - have a great day & try to stay warm (for those of us in this NASTY winter weather "glitch"!!!)

A couple birthday cards....

This one is for my MIL - I used Winter Mimi again, and the winter bench from Magnolia. I added stickles to the fluff on her coat and boots!
This one is for my friend Darren who is turning 40 in a couple weeks. Inside it says "everything hurts and what doesn't hurt, doesn't work" This set is from Gina K, called "Tickle your funny bone"

Squigglefly digital images - VERY cool!!!!

These 4 cards contain digital images from http://www.squigglefly.com/ --> go check them out, they have some really cute images!!! And the nice thing about these images, is you can make them any size you want which is great for practicing shading and colouring with copics. You get 4 images to download for under $4...and you can print out as many as you like.... not bad!!!
I coloured this "hip" chick with copics - I had so much fun colouring her!!! I really worked on the skin colour and shading on this one!! The foil DP is from a DCWV stack called Blossoms and Butterflies - cute eh? The ribbon is some taffeta ribbon I got in a ribbon exchange awhile ago but didn't want to use it (that is the HOARDER in me coming out!!LOL) The inside of the card says "So glad we're friends" (from an SU set called Best Yet)
This one was fun! It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland!!! The sentiment is from Best Yet as well, and thought it fit well with this card!! I coloured this one with copics as well, focusing on my shading!!

I like this image so much - it reminds me of when I was little, sitting in Dad's big chair reading a book!!! The DP is from an Autumn Leaves adhesive mat pack called "foof-a-la" (funny eh??) I coloured her with copics too. The sentiment is from "Ticketed" by Autumn Leaves.
I am particularly pleased with how this one turned out! This image is a free download but I was scared to colour it because hummingbirds are so beautiful and colourful, I wasn't sure I could do it justice!!! I used B05 and YG13 - I'm sure you aren't supposed to mix the colour families like that, but I'm glad I did - it turned out pretty good. I started out with the blue (B05) and put it randomly around the feathers, then went over it with the green (YG13) to blend the colours together. I LOVE it!!! My first intention was to try my Twinkling H2Os on this guy, but I've never used them before and I didn't want to wreck him!!! LOL I added stickles to the purple flowers to give it some bling...does that help?? LOL
Those are all the images I got from squigglefly - but I think I will be back for more...they are great!!!! I still haven't quite mastered making them smaller before I print them, but I'm working on it!!! :)
Have a great week - I only have 4 1/2 days of work until I'm off for Christmas vacation!!! YIPPPEEEEE!! I cannot wait!!!!!!

Tildas of a different colour

I have been tossing the idea around in my head to get away from the typical blonde/fair skinned Tilda & finally sat down to attempt some Tildas with darker skin!!! I hope I've done her justice - I think she is pretty dang cute!!! I have NEVER seen her coloured with dark skin - so I hope I'm not "stepping on any toes" or offending anyone! Anyways, here are 2 of them I did this weekend.
I coloured this one with E11, E13, and E18 Copic markers to get the darker skin & her hair is coloured with N9. I can't get over how dang cute she is with dark skin and dark hair!!!!

I tried this one with even darker skin - I used E25 & E27 and N9 for her hair. I made this one in our school uniform colours so I could give it to our principal as a thank you at the end of the year. This Tilda looks so much like one of our students from Sudan - so beautiful!!!

What do you all think?? Be honest & I hope I didn't offend anyone with these!!

Have you seen anyone else colouring her with darker skin? If so, let me know where, I'd love to check it out!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Some new cards - just for fun!!!

I now have a few extra cards on hand JUST IN CASE!!!! I got new stamps yesterday from Phebe at The Town Scrapper in Ontario. She is the only one in Canada selling these stamps from Pink Gem Designs in the UK. This first one is Mimi and Snowman, and I used a Z fold. The snow is Glittering Crystal 3D paint - it is similar to Liquid Applique and way cheaper! I coloured them with Copics.

This is Winter Mimi, from Pink Gem Designs too. Coloured with Copics too!
Here is Willow again, from Whiff of Joy. The snowflakes are embossed with Iridescent Ice (SU) and Willow is coloured with Copics. I added some Crystal Effects to her mug to make it shiny.

Christmas Candy!

Holy Snickerdoodles!!!! SUZY is giving away an AMAZING amount of candy on her blog PaperMonkey.org She is on a "few" design teams and is giving away something from EACH place she designs for....WOW!!! Over $200 worth of STUFF for one lucky lady (I hope it's me!!!) Anyways, don't just sit here reading my boring ol' blog........

Just when you think you're done,.....

You remember a ton of other people to send cards to!! OY!!!!
I made this one for a good friend - but I can't tell you who cuz it's in the mail on it's way to her!!!! I hope you love it!!! This is Willow with hot chocolate, from Whiff of Joy...my first WOJ stamp & it is great!! It is deeply etched rubber and so fun to colour!!!!
Another Tilda scene card! The background scene is from The Stampin Place - they have GREAT stamps too, lots of fun background stamps that work SO well with my beloved Magnolias!!! This is a new Tilda from the Christmas collection - Tilda with bell!! LOL
Another scene stamp from The Stampin Place & Tilda with Lantern.
I'm going to make about 10 more cards to have on hand in case I've forgotten anyone else!! You see, what happens is...every year I say "I'm not sending Christmas cards this year" but I end up deciding at the last minute to do it, then I make a half-assed list in my head and forget all the important people....then I make a REAL list and realize that the gazillion I've already made, aren't enough!!! UGH!!! LOL It's a good thing I LOVE making cards!!!

Gift card holders

A friend at work asked me to make her some gift card holders, so I thought I would try this one that I found at Two Peas in a Bucket. It was really easy and FAST!!!! I love this template!!!! Check it out, the pdf link to download the instructions and the template is near the bottom - hard to see but you can find it!
Here are the 3 that I made, in less that 20 minutes!!!

This one is using an Elzybells stamp - sooo cute!!!

Another using Basic Grey - Figgy Pudding paper, tied closed with a ribbon

This one uses SU paper and a candy cane embellishment I had in my Christmas stash.

Here is an open view - the gift card tucks right inside that little flap.
