Some Valentine's Day cards....

Here are a few more Valentine's Day cards I made! Not sure if they fit into any challenges but that's ok!!!

Rachelle Anne Miller image. Papers are from my scrap stash & the flowers are from Michael's (big bucket of white flowers in the wedding section - I just distressed them!)

Cuddly Buddies image (free digi) & sentiment from Designed2Delight. The papers are from my scraps bin...this card is 4x4 & coloured with Copics.



Karen's Doodles image . Paper is Melon Mambo (SU) & the DP is my new stuff from PaperWorks Co. It is from Bo Bunny's LOVE BANDIT series.

Sorry it's so short!!! It's been a crazy week already & I am exhausted!!!!

Pen holder - and 4 challenges in 1!!

This pen holder/coaster box qualifies for 3 challenges! So excited when this happens!!!!

First, it qualifies for the paper piecing challenge at Pink Cat Studio. I used the free Butterfly template to create a paper pieced creation (actually I did 2 butterflies on this project!)

Second, it qualifies for the challenge at Our Creative Corner which was to make something 3D!

Third, it qualifies for the challenge at Basic Grey, which was a photo for inspiration. I used the colours and the swirls on my holder that reflected the room in the photo. The Basic Grey paper I used is on the inside of the butterflies wings.

And fourth, it qualifies for the BLING challenge at Practical Scrappers!!!



I made this butterfly 3D. The font is from my Storybook Cricut cartridge. The swirls are from my new swirls punch and the flower is from the Storybook cartridge too, as is the side view of the butterfly in one of the next photos.


Here is the paper pieced butterfly from Pink Cat Studio. The antennae were nasty to cut out!! UGH!!!

That is the first coaster box I have made - it was pretty easy and fast...but I did have trouble attaching the bottom...is there a trick??? Well, it wasn't hard, just there was excess ribbon from the bottom to the side holes....it looks ok, and is still functional so I left it. I wonder if I needed to put my holes closer to the edge?!?! Anyone have pointers??

Creations by Penny - Butterfly Flower

Ooohhh boy, I had some fun with this image!! It is called Butterfly Flower from Creations by Penny! I printed out 2 images and made the butterfly POP off the card here:

I had this pack of glittery butterfly & flower paper that doesn't get used very often so I thought I would use it with this card. Since the paper was already glittery, I continued with the glitter on the flower and the butterfly! I mounted the image on Elegant Eggplant paper so it stood out on the busy paper. The card base is also Eggplant!

And, since it is BLINGY, I am entering this into the Practical Scrappers challenge this week!!!

Simon Says......Shabby Chic!

This weeks challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog is SHABBY CHIC. While I'm not very good at creating shabby chic art on my own, I had to do some searching for some ideas. I'm still not 100% sure this IS shabby chic, but I tried!!! LOL

I used a Sarah Kay image called Spring Blossoms - available at Simon Says Stamp Superstore!!! The papers I used were from SU, but I can't remember the name of the pack. I added in a chocolate chip embossed piece on the side and distressed the edges of the papers. The flowers and rhinestones were all from my stash. I coloured her using Copics.

After looking at this picture I realize I need a ribbon iron - hmmm!!!!

Sentiment Salon

Hey everyone!!! My friend Deb has opened up a neat little shop with all sorts of sentiments....very cool!!! It is called SENTIMENT SALON! Here are a couple samples of some of the sentiments she has been working on:

This first one is a list & it comes with a whole bunch of different headers that fit on top of the list, so you can customize it for whatever you need. This list is laminated so you can write on it with a marker & wipe it off. I attached magnets to the back so it can go on my fridge!

"You're the salt in my stew" - such a funny saying, but I love it!!!! I had just coloured up this new Shy Bear from Squigglefly and this saying fit perfectly, even though I know he isn't making stew.....well, he COULD be!!!! LOL

This last sentiment is great!!! When I saw that sentiment I knew it would work perfectly with my new Hedgehogs in love by Karen's Doodles

The Corrosive Challenge blog - DISTRESSING!!!

This weeks challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog is DISTRESSING! For this bookmark, I distressed all of the papers with Walnut Distress Ink (Ranger). The DP is from a paper pack I got at Wal Mart years ago & it looks like a page from the Bible. So I grabbed LiLi Praying from Inky Impressions and a cross charm and went from there! I added a jumbo eyelet from SU for the top (you can't see in the picture but there is ribbon attached to the top) The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp exclusive set called With Deepest Sympathy. The ribbon is recycled off of a chocolate box that I got from one of my students at Christmas!!!
