Chocolate & Vanilla cupcakes...YUMMM!!!

I finally inked up my CUPCAKEABELLA and I love this card!!! I used Vanilla CS as my base and the DP is SU "Au Chocolat" (I can't believe they discontinued it!! sniff sniff). I paper pieced the cupcake on the same paper and added a red stickle cherry on top!! YUMMYYY!!!! I sponged the white with chocolate chip ink. I coloured her dress with Real Red and added red stickles to it too! The red grosgrain ribbon is from Michael's - I got it at Christmas and I LOVE it...I went back to get more, and they didn't have any! Guess I'll have to wait until Christmas again ...booo hooo!!!! The layout is very simple as I wanted the image to be the focal point. I used my oval punches (SU) for the sentiment - chocolate chip & vanilla; the sentiment is from Verve Visual.
I am SO NOT a baker - but these look yummy!!!! I don't mind cooking but baking is just not my thing! Tim bakes more than I do - he makes a mean pumpkin pie!!!! Speaking of pumpkin - I have to go make Pumpkin Squares for Easter dinner tomorrow!! We are going to my Mom & Dad's for lunch, then to Tim's Mom & Dad's for supper!!! PHEWW!!! We will be STUFFED!!!!
Here is the recipe for the Pumpkin Squares - trust me, they are EASY (or I wouldn't make them) and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!
Cake:
In a large mixer bowl, cream 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup white sugar, and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Beat in 2 eggs. Add 14 oz. can of pumpkin and stir to blend.
In a small bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, 1/4 tsp. ginger, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir together, then add to the creamed mixture. Stir to blend.
Spread in a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake 45 min. at 350 degrees F. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Icing:
Beat 1 package (4 oz.) of softened cream cheese (250 g box) and 1/2 cup butter together until smooth. Stir in 2 tsp. vanilla. Gradually add 4 cups of icing sugar and beat until smooth.
Spread over the cooled cake, chill and cut into squares. ENJOY!!!!!

ACKKK!!!

Does anyone know WHY when I type a post it bolds it and underlines it? The last post did it on only part of the post?!?!?! I tried unbolding it, and erasing the format, but nothing got rid of it. It was GREEN writing, but I managed to change that!! LOL It's like a little ghostio is hanging out in my blog!!! Strange!!! (and this one is fine!! WEIRDDDDDDDDDD!!!)

Puff Pillow gift boxes

I made these Puff Pillows as little thank you gifts for a couple friends of my Mom's. She wanted something to give her friends for gifts & visits while she was in the hospital. The template is from Snooks and Boo - and it was so simple - I mean SIMPLE!!! Trace the template, score in the grooves on the template, cut, decorate, and fold!!! VOILA!!!! CUTE and easy!! And the templates are a very reasonable price. The pillows are about 8 inches long and about 3 or 4 inches wide so you can fit some nice things inside - gift cards, chocolate bars, jewelery, a stamp or two, etc. I used More Mustard and Old Olive as my base colours, stamped them with my Hero Arts leaf set and the SU set for the "Thanks". I used my square punches (scallop & plain) and some leaf eyelets I've had forever!!! See?!?!?! I AM using up things like I said I would....LOL....but, I'm still buying....gulp!!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

I love Easter!!!! For this card, I took Tilda with a basket and the Magnolia tree and stamped them with Stazon jet black. The tree was so hard to stamp - it is huge - I had to use the cutting plate from my Cuttlebug as an acrylic block!! LOL I used gamsol (OMS) and my prismas to colour the tree and Tilda. The eggs are from the mini occasions set from TAC (The Angel Company) and are the perfect size to fit in Tilda's basket and behind the tree!!! I wanted to poke one out of the hole in the tree but it was an afterthought and I already glued down the image!! Ahh well - next time!! This stamp is SO versatile - you can put anything in her basket!!! I popped out Tilda & placed her under the tree, and added stickles to some of the eggs!

Happy St. Patrick's Day & BLOG CANDY!!!!

I have put together a great little "green" package for some blog candy today!!! All you have to do is make a card, 3D item or scrapbook page using green. It can be one you previously made within the last year, or it can be brand new! Post a link here to your blog or gallery by Wed. March 19 at 6:00 pm (MST) and I will pick a winner using random.org!!!! Enjoy your day everyone!!

Here is a card I made for a friends Dad - who's birthday is today. The pocket is from "Pocket Fun" (SU) and the shamrocks are from a Hero Arts box of 4 shamrocks. The background is Always Artichoke (SU) and the DP is from a huge pad I got from Costco a few years ago. The "tab" sentiment is from Verve Visual's set "wonderful wishes". The photo corner punch is SU and there are copper brads on the pockets and corners.

Another penalty?????

I made this card for my 13 year old nephew. I got the images from SCS Wish RAK (Thanks Tina!!) and they came at the most PERFECT time!! I went to watch one of my nephew's play off games last weekend and he got TWO penalties!! He is the smallest kid on the team & the big guys always pick on him! He is an amazing hockey player & he will go far with it because he is so small and FAST!!! Anyways, when I opened the envelope and saw these images I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them!!! The card base is basic black (SU) & I added white stripes to look like a referee shirt. I layered the image on black as well. I coloured the image with my SU Pastels - I used a few different colours on the penalty box because they are always dirty and gross!! I added a black brad to resemble a hockey puck at the bottom. The image is from a new line by the same lady who draws the House Mouse and Happy Hoppers - they are called GRUFFIES!!! Cute eh??? I did seal the image when I was finished with a Krylon sealant spray so the chalks didn't smudge.

I entered this card into a challenge on the CUTE CARD THURSDAY blog!! Check it out - they have amazing prizes!!!!
