Oldies but Goodies with Karen's Doodles

I made my Dad a bookmark for Christmas, because he loves reading Westerns...and always gets a TON for Christmas! He was also a mechanic for many many years so this image, Mr. Fix it Grandpa, is perfect for him!! The paper I used is Glitz Hey Dude, from Simon Says Stamp. The letters are spritzed with Sapphire Blue Glimmer Mist, then painted with Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint, all from Simon Says Stamp. I had hoped for a different effect with the crackle paint, but it still looks pretty cool.

This bookmark is for Karen's Doodles Oldies But Goodies post over on the Challenge blog! It is a great resource for those forgotten images that are AMAZING!!! So, go ahead, dig out yours and have some fun!!! Be sure to check out the challenge this week HERE, and enter your project to win some great prizes!!!!

•1st Place - 3 Digi stamps of your choice from Karen's Doodles and Card of the Week Blinkie, awarded to the best entry
•2nd Place - 2 Digi stamps of your choice from Karen's Doodles
•3rd Place - 1 Digi stamp of your choice from Karen's Doodles

Also, check out the Doodle Diva Gallery and enter your card there to win more images!!!!

Good luck and have fun!!!

Kenny K challenge...

I had some time to participate in a Kenny K challenge again finally!!! Thank God it ran for 2 weeks!!! LOL

This weeks challenge is distressing, so I decided to use Hockey Girl. The CS is Brilliant Blue & Bashful Blue (SU) and some scrap brown I had kicking around my craft table! I used some magic mesh (well, it is actually drywallers mesh stuff -got a HUGE roll of it at a dollar store!! ) I distressed all the edges with my Heidi Swapp distresser and chocolate chip ink. I coloured her with Copics, and the sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp exclusive sentiment set!

Wish me luck!!!!

Simon Says....PARTY + Glimmer Mist or Glitter

Photobucket

This week at Simon Says Stamp, our challenge for you is to PARTY!! Party it up in your creations - whatever it may be!!! Have fun with it!!! The Design Team is also showcasing Glimmer Mist &/or Glitter so try using those in your PARTY creations too!!! ALSO, on the challenge blog is a champaigne bottle template that Domi made for your use if you want to!! I thought it would be fun, so I used it! Here is my creation:

I printed out the bottle on white CS, then traced it onto Tim Holtz Vintage paper. I glued it down, sanded the edges then distressed them with Vintage Photo Distress ink. When that was done, I spritzed the ENTIRE bottle with Sandy Beach Glimmer Mist. It is hard to tell, but if you look at the next picture you can see the shimmer!

I used a gorgeous Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling Collection from Magnolia, and a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp exclusive set. The ovals were all cut with Nestabilities. The smooth gemstones are from Hero Arts. The chocolate chip ribbon is a leftover piece from my niece's wedding invitations.

Sooooooo, I hope you will join us this week!!! Head over to the DT blog to see the rest of the PARTY animals!! LOL Have a great week!!!! I am enjoying my time off - lots of crafting time and visiting with friends and family!!!! Yeahhhhhh!!!!!!

Incy Wincy Designs...Distressing

This week at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge blog is DISTRESSING!! I chose a coloured rose from Aspire to Thrive that matched the paper (Bearly Mine - our sponsor for the week! You can win TWO DIGI PAPER PACKS!!!!) I distressed the edges with Chocolate Chip ink and added some flourishes and gemstones. I think this card would make a great Birthday card, Sympathy card, or anything really - so I left it blank inside and will use it however I need to when the time comes!!

Head on over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT have DISTRESSED for you!!! I hope you will join us this week!!

The Corrosive Challenge Blog - BLING it up!!!

This week is an easy one at The Corrosive Challenge blog add BLING to your creation! I had this card done ON TIME but with the craziness of Christmas, I forgot to take a picture of it and post it! DUHH!!! Sorry!! BUT at least it is here, and it is STILL Sunday!!! LOL

I used an image from Whimsy Doodles, called Elephant shoes....I love this image cuz its an elephant, and cuz he is so cute in those sneakers!!!

I was trying a new coloiuring technique using stumps, Gamsol and regular Crayola pencil crayons to see if they worked as well as Prismas or Koh-i-noor pencils....they don't!!! I don't like the way it looks "streaky" - but now I know!!! Although...it COULD be the paper I was using too! Hmmmmmmmmmm, anyone else like using Crayola pencil crayons? I tried them because I like the selection of colours better than the Koh-i-noor pencils & I only have a small set of Prisma pencils.

Anyway, I hope you are enjoying your holiday still! I think my tummy is back to normal after all that food!!!! Head over to the challenge blog to join us this week!!!!

Money holders .....

I made a couple more money holders for my neices who are moving to Australia for a year. Instead of getting them Christmas gifts, we got them some Australian money. The images are Dustin Pike and the papers are all random Christmas stuff Ihad laying around. Nothing fancy, just an 8.5 x 11 piece of CS, folded, then folded again for the little flap that holds the money in.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and for those of us in Canada, are enjoying your Boxing Day shopping!!!! I'm not sure if I will venture out or not - my sister usually begs me to go with her, but we'll see!!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!
