Snow Fun!

I made this card a couple weeks ago while I was home - snowed in!!!  Calgary got hit with a nasty blizzard and a LOT of snow! AND it was COLD!!!!  (-39 Celcius) so I took advantage of the day and got my Christmas cards done and ready to mail!!!

 I have used images from Digi Garden in honour of Jacqui, the artist.  I know you're smiling down on the crafty world, Jacqui! We miss you!

 I have made a side step card, and made it look like a snowball fight!!!  This one was really fun!!! The "snowballs" are just a tiny circle punch!!

This post is in honour of a very talented lady....

Sadly, the crafting world has said goodbye to a very sweet, very gracious and very talented lady!  Jacqui, the owner and illustrator from Digi Garden passed away last week, and it was a shock to me and the rest of the DT.  We all knew from her posts that she was ill, but never did we think it would end up this way. It was a very sad day for everyone, and I wanted to pay tribute to such a talented lady who will be missed greatly.
 
God has taken another angel for himself. 
Rest in Peace, my friend!

Good morning everyone!!! Happy Monday!!!!!

                                          This week the LOVE TO CREATE Challenge is   

FANCY EDGES

This week we have TWO sponsors and TWO great prizes! I have made cards using images from both sponsors.  This first card is SASSY LAGER, from Sassy Studio Designs. 
I have used my Grand Nesties (Labels One) and folded it over to make a fun base for the card.  It is coloured in Copics and I added glittering crystal glue to the foam of the beer.  The crochet flower I've had for AGES - bought from Etsy, and the ribbon, bow & gold cord are all from my stash! The sentiment is from Paper Smooches. I am entering this card into the Ribbon Girls challenge, which is ribbon and sparkle.

Our second sponsor is DIGI GARDEN.  I have used SHAYLEE, isn't she cute?? I have coloured her with Copics and added stickles to her wings.  This is my first circle easel card and it was pretty easy! I think its a bit small but it works for my first one!!!  I used a purple star button from my stash to prop the card up!

Another challenge entry

Ok, you're all probably wondering "What has gotten into Chris?? Why, all of a sudden, is she entering all these challenges??"  Well....let me tell you!  Last Wed. about 2 am I woke up with unbelievable dizziness - it felt like I was in a blender with no end in sight.  I fell back asleep, and at about 4 am, woke up again, with even worse dizziness.  When I got up in the morning the nauseousness hit, I was shaky, dizzy and generally felt like total crap all around.   I stayed home Thurs. and on Fri. went to my family Dr. who told me I have something called "Labyrinthitis"  - go ahead..laugh! I DID!  Basically it is an inflammation of the inner ear that causes severe dizziness and nausea - many know this as Vertigo.  AWESOME!  I'm a teacher....how am I supposed to deal with that AND teach  8 year olds???  The last thing my Dr. tells me is that I can't drive (OMG) and I can't work, for at least 3 weeks...........WHAT?!?!?!?!  In between dizzy spells, I feel fine........but when the "dizzies" hit....look out!  So, I've spent a good part of the last 5 days, colouring like a mad woman.  Watching TV makes me nauseous, reading makes me nauseous, and I can't go anywhere....so whats a girl to do?? LOL   So, in between dog walks and dizziness, I colour & make cards! I'd like to get a good start on my Christmas cards! Sooooooooooo, you might be seeing a LOT more of me on here in the next few weeks!!!! :)

.....so I am entering this card using a Digi Garden image called Peppermints Present.  Cute eh??
The card base is white and the DPs are from a Christmas pack I've had forever - from Paper Mania. The silver ribbon is from my stash!

Color Throwdown challenge entry

 Good morning!!! I am entering this card to the Color Throwdown challenge - the colours this week are Summer Starfruit, Sahara Sand, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb cake.  I think I got all the colours in here that are required!  The image is from DIGI GARDEN called Emily's Harvest...isn't she cute??  The paper is Pumpkin Pie and the DP is from my stash...not sure which pack though, sorry! The pumpkin punch is Martha Stewart, and the rhinestones are from my stash! The sentiment is an old one from High Hopes!

The CS is Kraft & Core'dinations.  I have coloured the boy, the ball and the sandcastle with Prismas & Gamsol and have popped up the ball and sandcastle.  I sponged on some chalk clouds to try to make a scene, but not 100% happy with it.  The inside sentiment is from Changito.
