My new notebook

Hey peeps! I just wanted to share my new notebook with you...using a Saturated Canary image that I adore!!!   I am entering it into their Facebook challenge this month which is anything goes!!! 

It's WAY more simple than the other entries, but I love it! I love the brown burlap cover that was already on the notebook (Michael's...on sale for $2.50...wish I had bought more!!!)  and I just added to it!!!  I love it, that's all that matters right?? But I hope you like it too!!!!

Spring time....finally!!!!

 Good morning everyone!!  I am entering this card (& have mailed it) into the Send a Smile 4 Kids challenge, which is For the Girls! 
I am also entering it into the Glitter & Sparkle challenge which is Use a Digi.  ABC Challenge is M for Monochromatic so I'm going to enter her there too!! And one last one, Sisters of Craft has an Anything Goes challenge!

This is a Saturated Canary image & I just loved colouring her!!!  So much fun!!!!

I am off to do The Calgary Humane Society Dog Jog this morning, and I'm pretty excited!!  I raised just over $500 and our team, the Chew Barkas raised over $1200!!! YAYYY!!!!  AND the forecast changed, so no rain!!!!

Welcome Baby!!

Hi everyone!! WOW, here I am, 4 days before Progress Reports are due, and I'm DONE!!! SO, needless to say, I had time to play this afternoon!!!  YAYYY!!!!!  I am making baby cards for a lady who is making baskets for families who have just given birth to children with Down's Syndrome....it was such a great idea, I reached out to her to ask if I could help!!!  So far, I've made 10!!!   Here is one of them using a Saturated Canary image. It is a center step card - weird dimensions cuz I screwed up my measurement, but it still worked!!!!

ABC Christmas Challenge - R for Recipe

Hi everyone! Here is my card for the ABC Christmas challenge  this time. You have 2 weeks to enter this challenge so I hope you join us!! The Recipe is 3 Papers, 2 Ribbons, 1 Image.  My papers are all from a Christmas pack from Recollections (Michael's) and the white and red ribbon are from my stash.

I made this card for a good friend and colleague that was leaving us at the end of the school year. She is moving to Singapore for 2 years to teach! I will miss her greatly, she was so positive and upbeat and she really made me stop and think before I said something negative! This is for you Linds!!!

I made this card using a Saturated Canary image called  Muriel.  I made this for a colleague that is leaving us at the end of this school year.  I have coloured her with Copics and added some stickles to the flowers (I think they were supposed to be 3 leaf clovers....shhhhhh)

 

Ok, I DID have time to squeek a card in using Maddie & Clover Groovy Hippie Music from Lacy Sunshine, but now that I've rushed to take a picture of it, I remembered I wasn't really done...lol...oops! But.... no time to redo, so let's play a game of PRETEND:  Pretend my bow isn't wonky, Pretend I chalked the green grass,  and Pretend the sentiment on the top says "Have a GROOVY birthday"....if you can do those 3 things, I will feel better about posting this card! LOL Thanks!!

Pretty Pastel challenge

This is my 2nd attempt at feathers......I think its much better than the first one (HERE) - what do you think??

Feathers......take em or leave em??

 I am unsure about feathers.... I have seen tons of cards that use feathers and they turn out SO beautifully......I don't really think it is my "style" to add feathers....they just seem to "be there" - not really adding anything or giving them a WOW factor.  What do you all think?  Do you use feathers? How do you use them on your cards??


I made this card using a Saturated Canary image - I think it is called Tourist, but I can't find her in the shop anymore.  I made this for my best friend who is a photographer.  Back in the day of parties and drinking, we always referred to ourselves as "Tequila Cats" - we both love tequila & we both had cats....somehow along the road, it turned into Good Cat, Bad Cat... I of course ended up being the Bad Cat (NOT sure why!!! LOL) - which makes this card fitting for the Good vs. Evil challenge at Saturated Canary challenge blog.

ABC Christmas Challenge - C is for CASE one of the DT cards from last year

This week at  ABC Christmas Challenge  our letter is C.

We would like you to peruse challenges from 2012 and find one of the DT cards that you like and CASE IT!!! That means, copy it, with your own interpretation of course, but make it similar - similar style, layout, images, colour......and be sure to link your CASEd card in your blog post so we can see!!!!   HERE is a forum thread about it.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Saturated Canary!!! YAHOOO!!!! Gosh I love Krista's images!!! I have used Tammy Pie and took some creative licensing with this image!  I'm not sure what I was thinking when I ordered her for a CHRISTMAS challenge......duhhh!!! SO, I coloured & cut out a prezzie, popped it on top of the pile of books and paper pieced a "Christmas" balloon!!!  I added some crystal lacquer to the balloon too, for texture!  I HOPE you like what I did with her!

 I have used PARADE from Saturated Canary, and have coloured it with  Copics.  My lace doily is hiding under the huge yellow & orange flowers! I wanted this card to be bright and beautiful!  The DP in the background is from Echo Park.  The flowers, leaves, pearls, button and ribbon are all from my stash!

"Bridesmaids" inspired cupcake card......

Saturated Canary challenge theme this week is Inspired by a movie.....and since I just watched Bridesmaids last night for the 3rd time ...I decided to make this birthday card, inspired by the cupcakes that Annie makes!

Inspired by song.....

I am entering this card into the Saturated Canary challenge #34 which is inspired by a song..... I have chosen the song Kodachrome by Paul Simon, and have used Tourist from Saturated Canary.  "Everything looks worse in black & white"....so I decided to go PURPLE!!!!  I have coloured her with Copics and made an easel card.  The feather, ribbon and button are from my stash.

Saturated Canary notebook - so pleased with how this turned out!

 I made this notebook for a friend at work - she was my Secret Santa & I saved this for the last day because I knew she'd know it was me!!!  I have used PACK LIGHT from Saturated Canary because it totally IS Lindsey!  She is fun and funky and loves to travel & this girl even looks like her! So, it was a perfect match!!!  I used some fun paper and coloured her with Copics, added a bit of sparkle to her clothes & purse, then tied a bunch of ribbons to make it fun!!  I even made her a matching pen!!! The little rhinestone letters are from Recollections. I used my ticket corner punch for the corners of the image, and my crop-o-dile to punch the holes in the notebook cover so the wire could go through!  I am so pleased with this notebook - I love the colours & I love love love the image!!!!!

I have used Mousey Mo and have coloured her with Copics.  I used a teal & yellow, although for some reason the colours look washed out! Weird! Must be the crappy weather!  The sentiment is from my good pal NETTY - thanks Annette!!! She makes amazing sentiments & they are all FREE!! Go check it out!!!

I ran the yellow through my snowflake cuttlebug folder, added some teal bakers twine that I have had FOREVER!!  .  I like these 2 colours together, will have to try this combo again!
