The Corrosive Challenge Blog

This weeks challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog is to use TURQUOISE, PINK & RED!! Yikes....that was a tough one for me....my Momma always said, NEVER mix red & pink!! LOL It was hard to get that warning out of my head!! LOL

So, here is my creation for this week. Lots of pink, a bit of turquoise and a teeny tiny bit of red (the flowers in her hair and at the top of the bookmark!) The papers are all from my scraps bin, and the sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set. The red flowers are poinsettias (shhhh, I know its not Christmas!) and the white flowers are new ones I just got called Flora Doodles, by Petaloo. I got them both at Simon Says Stamp! The image is a Hanglar & Stanglar stamp that I just love - you can do so much with her!! Now that I see this, I should have paper pieced her skirt!!! Ahhhh well!!!!

Birthday Boy

This will be a quick post today, lots going on, and this puppy is definitely keeping us on our toes!!WOW!! Who woulda thought something so little could be so much work?? LOL She is getting better at the potty business...but still some accidents! Uh ohhh!!!!

This is a Hanglar & Stanglar image I've had for awhile, and really nothing fancy about this card. I actually don't even really like it, the more I look at it!!!! Ahhh well, ya win some, ya lose some!!! LOL

Incy Wincy Designs Challenge #18 - PURPLE!!!!

This week, Cheryl set the challenge at Incy Wincy Designs & she chose a colour challenge - you are to use PURPLE as the main colour of your card or project. I made an Accordion Fold Purse. I wish I had taken a picture of the side view because it looks really cool. Inside there are 6 pockets & I put little pouches of Apple Cider inside. Magnetic notepads

I am heading to another Craft Sale today - so let's hope this one goes better!!! It is in a small city, but it is bigger than the first one I was at!!!! Wish me luck!!!!!!

More items for my Craft Sale.......

I found these HUGE clothespins at Dollar Tree in Great Falls last April when I was there. They only had 3 but now I wish I had gone to other stores to see if they had more! These will look really cute on someone's desk!!! Wish we had a Dollar Tree in Canada!! Booo hooo!!!!

I used some images that I had already coloured up, found matching DP & altered the notebooks. Very quick & very easy!!!! AND very functional! I just HOPE they sell!!!! Nov. 1 is coming quickly, I hope I have enough "stuff" to sell!!! EEEK!!!!

Altered mini notebooks

These are those little note pads you can buy at the Dollar Store - 4 for $1 or something like that - I had these for almost 2 years, from a notebook swap I did back then!!! I decided to alter them and put them in my Craft Sale too!!!! I did 2 "boy" themed and 2 "girl" themed! Hope you like them!!!!

A2 Gift Card holders - you gotta check these out!!!

These cute little A2 gift card holders were bought from Taylored Expressions - I had to decorate them, but I bought the card - does that make sense?? Go to Taylor's store and check them out HERE!!!! You'll see what I mean!!!! Sure beats making your own.....I much prefer decorating ones that are already cut out!!!! LOL I bought 10 bright yellow and 10 chocolate brown. I wanted to get some neutral colours for guys and girls, so these are what I came up with:

I have showed you before what they look like open - they are quite neat eh?? They have little slits inside to hold the gift card and a little tab to hold them closed! Well worth the 50 cents each!!!!! I might have to buy some other colours!!!!! I plan to sell these at my craft sale - was thinking $3 or $4...what do you think????

GIANT flower!!!

I got this really cool Paper Flowers kit by K&Company from Costco a few months ago & finally ripped open the package. Inside was a tube of glitter, a tube of rhinestones and a tube of brads, some wackytac tape & a refill and a paper pad of 578 pieces to make flowers & leaves. They are precut and perforated so you just pop them off the page, fold on the score lines, layer, embellish & your done!!

I made this GIANT one and didn't really know what to do with it, so I turned it into a card. I used 3 layers, some leaves and a center piece from the kit, and added my own giant pink brad. I added a Hanglar & Stanglar image that I had coloured from a long time ago, and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. There are pop dots between the layers of petals to give them dimension & my little Hanglar girl is popped up too!

It's very different for me, very "out of the box" but I really like it!!! I have the PERFECT person to give it to too!!!! I hope she likes it!!!

Friend frame & mini album

My SBS4 sister, Diana, put together these awesome kits with 3 projects in them. Such a cool idea!!!! Head on over to her blog and check out her work - she is AWESOME!!!!



I finally got a chance to make the April kit, which was a clear card, a 6x6 album and a chipboard frame. I didn't take a picture of the clear card but here is my album and my frame.

This is the frame I made with the papers she sent. I added Tilda instead of a photo cuz Tim was hogging the computer so I couldn't print one off!!! LOL



And here is the mini 6 x 6 album - really simple to make actually (especially since she had everything cut and scored for me!!!LOL) I used a Hanglar & Stanglar image I received from a friend - isn't she sweet??

A couple CUTE girls

I received this Tilda image, the 2 papers, the ribbon, primas and brads in a Tilda card kit swap on SCS awhile ago. I am just finally getting to the pile to create cards with them!!! I LOVE this paper, I wish I knew who made it! It is shimmery and thin, almost metallic like!!! Sooo pretty!!!!!

Another Hanglar & Stanglar card - told ya I was on a role!!! LOL Isn't this little girl SO adorable, getting ready to hang out in her garden?!?!? I used the papers from the card kit swap above - I couldn't let it go to waste cuz it is so awesome!!!!

More Hanglar & Stanglar kids

I was on a roll with my new Hanglar & Stanglar stamps! Here are 2 more I created. This first one uses a Mojo Monday sketch from awhile back (I can't remember which one, sorry!) and I just flipped it. I used Elegant Eggplant CS and Almost Amethyst DP. I coloured her using my Copics - I experimented with giving her black hair, and I think it turned out alright! Does anyone have any tips for making black hair? Isn't she precious?




This one is a small 4 1/2 " square card I made for my sister to thank her for coming to Great Falls with me! I know she is holding a bird house and I put butterflies on the card instead of birds...whoops!! Oh well!!!! She is still cute eh??

Hanglar & Stanglar LOVE

I love love love these cuties! This girl is from the H&S Spring Kit that I received as a gift from a FABULOUS lady, Christina (Hi Christina!!!) - it's nice to have connections!!! LOL

The stamps in this kit are very cute and I couldn't wait to ink them up!!!

The sketch I used is from the Just Magnolias challenge blog last week or the week before, but I liked it so I wanted to use it!

The plaid DP is from My Mind's Eye - I had been hoarding it, and thought she would look really cute in a plaid dress! Her dress & hat are paper pieced. The sentiment is an epoxy sticker from Fiskars that I got on my shopping trip! I added a shiny red mini brad to her dress and a couple primas to tie in all the colours of the DP. The rest of her is coloured with copics.

Some more cards - I've been busy

Well, when you are laid up at home for 5 days sick, and when it hurt to lay down, you had to sit up - and colour! I coloured a LOT of images last week, now I just have to find the time to make them into something! I love to colour though, so it helped pass the time. Here are a few of the cards I made with some of the images I coloured:

I received this Hanglar & Stanglar image from Annie - she sent me a bunch - I love these little guys! I WISH they were available to other countries besides Sweden & Norway!! BAHHH!!!! The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp set called Sending Sunshine - it is a really versatile sentiment set & I love the fonts! Go check it out!!!

Another Hanglar & Stanglar image I've had for awhile (can't remember who sent it to me!) The sentiment is from the same Simon Says Stamp set from above. The little heart button is from Michael's - so cute!!! This card is headed to NY to a VERY good friend of mine!!

And a Magnolia - this is Tilda in the Sea. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp set called With Deepest Sympathy - it has some nice sentiments for anytime too!

A couple birthday cards....

I made this card for Tim for his birthday on Sunday. I used a HANGLAR stamp that Annie sent me (thanks!) and a fish charm from Bella. The fishy stamps in the background are from Clear Dollar Stamps.

This card is for my sister, who loves waterskiing. I was given this image on SCS Wish RAK, but I added the bikini top to make it a "girl" moose! LOL The sentiment was made on the computer. I got the DP from All that Scraps & have NO idea what company made it....Flair something or other??? sorry!!!

This card uses the Clear Dollar Stamps critter & sentiment. The background is this paint I bought off of Ebay YEARS ago - called Luna Lights - it's really pearly and shiny. You squirt it onto glossy cardstock, then mush another sheet of CS to it, and you get these designs - kinda like in school when we did that, and turned them into butterflies!!!! LOL I added Fun Flock to the skunk and a couple felt flowers from SU. I was going to enter this into the Clear Dollar Stamps DT call, but decided I didn't really like it. No biggie - I need a lot of birthday cards!!!!

Christmas Dinner name tags

My sister & her son are hosting Christmas dinner this year - a feat in itself because my family is HUGE!! She asked me to make name tags for our dinner table on Christmas day & of course I said yes. I sat down and made a list so I didn't forget anyone & realized I had to make 21 name tags!! EEK!!!! Thank goodness I had several Magnolia images already coloured that I didn't use on my Christmas cards!!! The base is 5 x 2.5 and I just used scraps of green, red and blue. The alphabet I used was Storybook Alphabet and my Karen Foster snap stamps. Nothing too fancy as I had to make A LOT!!!! LOL

I used Magnolias, Hanglar & Stanglar, Stampendous Changito Cocoa & Changito Santa, Stampendous Gnome & Merry Pursuits (CTMH)
