Cards from my workshop last week (& an extra!)

This card was made with a card kit I got in a swap MONTHS ago - they sat in a box until I finally decided to do something with them. I went through most at Christmas time, but had a few sitting here still. I have NO idea what company makes that giraffe image but it is cute! The other stamps are from Papertrey Ink's set Bitty Baby Blessings.
We made this card at the workshop I had at my house last week - it is home made DP (which I made from a One Sheet Wonder)then popped up - very simple! The hearts and sentiment are from Verve Stamps and the birds are fromSU's Love you much set.

This one is a TOTAL CASE from someone on SCS but I cannot remember who (sorry!) This is the set Just Buzzin' By - a brand new one by SU - CUTE!!!!

This is a 2,5,7,10 box we made as well! I got the tutorial from SCS - it was pretty easy but definately need the red line tape - it holds WAY better!!!! The stamps are from Verve.

a couple random cards I made

This first one is for my niece who loves Pandas. I have NO idea who made the stamp because I have been unmounting all of mine & didn't write down the company. WHOOPS!!!! She loves purple too, so I used the purple and green together. I think it turned out pretty good!!
This one is made with a Digital image from SQUIGGLEFLY - isn't she adorable!!!! And that fibre reminds me of a feather boa I used to play dress up with when I was a kid!!!

Some random cards I made this week

This is Mimi from Pink Gem Designs...isn't she cute? I used Riding Hood Red CS & Bella Rose DP.
This bunny is from Sugar Nellie...cute eh?
One of my beloved Hanglar & Stanglar stamps. I tried a sketch challenge from Paperworks & Co. It was a tough one - I'm not very good with angles!!! LOL
This dragon is from High Hopes - cute eh? They have a whole bunch of these dragons - I love them!!!! I used Riding Hood Red CS and Bella Rose DP for this one too.
Another Dragon from High Hopes. This one is for the High Hopes blog challenge #12 - to use torn paper. The paper is Pixie Pink & Elegant Eggplant CS and the DP is Flowers for you.
Have a great weekend!!!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Some new cards - just for fun!!!

I now have a few extra cards on hand JUST IN CASE!!!! I got new stamps yesterday from Phebe at The Town Scrapper in Ontario. She is the only one in Canada selling these stamps from Pink Gem Designs in the UK. This first one is Mimi and Snowman, and I used a Z fold. The snow is Glittering Crystal 3D paint - it is similar to Liquid Applique and way cheaper! I coloured them with Copics.

This is Winter Mimi, from Pink Gem Designs too. Coloured with Copics too!
Here is Willow again, from Whiff of Joy. The snowflakes are embossed with Iridescent Ice (SU) and Willow is coloured with Copics. I added some Crystal Effects to her mug to make it shiny.

The last of the cards (I hope!!)

First, I will start with a Thank you card I made for my sister to give to friends of hers for having them over to watch the Grey Cup football game (THAT the Calgary Stampeders won, by the way...tee hee) Our team colours are red and black and our logo is a white silhouette of a horse. This stamp from SU (Bareback) was as close as I could get! The words are made with my Karen Foster snap stamps, and the footballs are from a TAC set.
Another Magnolia scene card - notice the mistletoe? Who knew the berries were WHITE??? I didn't!!! LOL The couch is from Alota Rubber Stamps and the tree is from JessicaLynnOriginals, and the sentiment is from SU. I coloured it all with copics.

Now for the challenging card!! My sister needed me to make her a card for her coworker that loves cows - I have a few cow stamps but none that I could really make "Christmassy". This stamp is from TAC, and the 3 cows have cute little garden hats on. I cut off their hats, then glued on the Santa hats - worked out perfectly!!!! I was amazed that I had a hat the PERFECT size!!! I added white flock to the hats, and liquid applique on the fence and on the ground to make it "snowy". The fold is a basic gate fold. Here is a close up of the Christmas cows:

Woodland Santa - from High Hopes. I put Crystal Effects on his axe, and Fun Flock on his beard and hat. Isn't he cute?? This one is for my bro and his girlfriend who are outdoorsy people - I quite often make them horse cards too which you've seen many of in the past!!! LOL
Check out Simon Says Stamp - the link is to the right...they have some amazing stamps, accessories, tools, etc. Anything you can think of, they HAVE it or Heidi will GET it for you!!!! Luv ya Heidi!!!! ;-)

Mish Mash variety of cards

This card was made for a Harvest card Mingle over on a Magnolia Yahoo Group. I am really pleased with how this turned out! I used the new Autumn paper from SU, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. I cut out the hay bales and layered them, and put Farmer Tilda on top. I used the pumpkin and gourd from Autumn Harvest (SU). I coloured it all with Copics...still learning which is why there is a big variance in the hay bales...I was trying to see which looked more "realistic". LOL. The "Autumn Wishes" sentiment came from Magnolia in the Fall Club Kit. Cute eh?
I can't remember if I posted this one or not...sorry if I did! I used Mojo Monday sketch 46, and the bear from a CTMH set (bad memory - can't remember what it was called). I covered the whole bear with tan fun flock to make him fuzzy wuzzy!!!
This is a calendar page I am doing for a Magnolia Calendar swap. I quite like how it turned out too - the "shy" Tilda getting flowers on Valentine's Day from Edwin...how cute is that?? I coloured it all with Copics, cut out Edwin and Tilda and popped them into the scene (SOOO much easier than masking!)
Here is a close up picture - don't mind my little glitch with the white signo pen on her dress....whoops!!!

Have a great weekend everyone! To all my Canadian friends, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, NO WORK on Monday!!!!! I love long weekends!!!!!

Fall Kit Magnolia

This Tilda is up there in my TOP FIVE FAVES!!! She came with the Magnolia Fall Kit, and she is very similar to Cuddly Tilda with is my all time fave! This card is a 4 x 4 base in Brilliant Blue. The DP is Prestwick by SU. I coloured her with Copics and used my colorless blender to make the lighter spots...definately need to work on that technique...anyone have any pointers on how to feather it out nicely so it isn't all splotchy???? The metal rim tag is from SU and the sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps (tag time)
The same Tilda, but in purple this time!! The paper is from Papertrey Ink (PTI), the dark one is Plum Pudding and the light purple is called Lavender Moon. The ribbon is also PTI. I used my Stylized Flower folder with my cuttlbug for the background, and added some purple prima's. The scallop circle punch is from SU and the sentiment is from PTI as well (can't remember which set!)
Same layout, same colours (just reversed) but a different Tilda. This one is called Tilda in Sark - I don't own this stamp (I know - SHOCKER!!!) but I would love to! She is so pretty in her jammies sitting there!!!

ARGHHH MATEY!! This be anudder post!

I made these 2 cards for the High Hopes Challenge over on their blog, but I forgot to post that I did them, so I didn't get entered in the draw...whoops!! Ohhh well, it was fun. I coloured them both with Copics - still learning so they aren't all shaded and gorgeous, but I like how they turned out all the same!!! I added stickles to the treasure chest to make it all sparkle!! The paper I used is Blue Bayou, and a piece of green Coredinations paper I got from Heidi at Simon Says Stamp.
Another one for the High Hopes Challenge - also coloured with Copics. I used Purely Pomegranate and So Saffron paper, and the DP is from my stash of scraps! I used my Marvy punches to make the frames and used a very simple layout!

Thanks for looking!!!

Finally a post!!!

Sorry about the delay - our computer crashed last weekend, and I've been trying to recover favourite websites and blogs, email addresses, etc. I also lost my Picture It which is what I use to edit my photos and add my watermark. My friend has the disk, I just have to go and get it! UGH! So, these photos are unedited and with out a water mark! OHHH WELL!!! I felt like I needed to post something or you 'd all leave me!!! LOL I have been busy though, trying to get ready for swaps at the Calgary Classic weekend in 2 weeks! So, today, I will show you a few more Simon Says Design Team cards! They went in the mail on Friday, so you should get them soon Heidi!!!
This card uses the caterpillar and sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp set called "Enjoy the little things - BUGS". The butterfly is from Studio G (Michael's $1.50 bin). The card base is Blue Bayou and the DP is from Creative Memories. I coloured the caterpillar with copic markers and added stickles to the butterflies wings.

Same paper as above, although I added a piece of Mellow Moss and Bravo Burgundy to this one. The spider is from BUGS by Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment was from a grab bag I received a few years back (maybe StarvingArtistamps, but not sure!!)
This stamp set is called A Little Birdie Told Me from Simon Says Stamp as well. I used Close to Cocoa, Berry Bliss DP and my Marvy punches. I coloured the birds with Copic markers (I'm still learning - bear with me!) and added some stickles to their bellies!

Thanks for stopping by! I should have more cards tomorrow!!!

Donelda's crap...I mean SCRAP challenge! #2

Ok, I forgot AGAIN!!! I was going to take a picture of what "crap" she sent me....whoops!! It was that blue/green water coloured piece in the back, a piece of burgundy mulberry paper, and a piece of glossy CS with alcohol inks on it. The blue/green piece automatically made me think of water, so I pulled out all my "summer" stamps, and chose this one. I paper pieced her swimsuit with the alcohol inked piece, and the tube with mulberry paper (that was HARD to cut!). I added a strip of the mulberry paper, then a piece of the alcohol inked paper and then my favourite summer sentiment. The card base is Bravo Burgundy. I coloured the rest of Tilda with my SU markers!! I hope ya like it!!! I have mailed set #3 of crap - I was nicer to you this time, although you did a FAB job on the last crap! tee hee!!!! Anyone else want to play??? Check out Donelda's blog!

Autumn Mouse

This is one of the cards we will be making at the workshop next week. The layout is one of Verve Visual's MOJO Monday's...can't remember which one!!! The card base is Tangerine Tango, and I rolled on an acorn wheel in the same ink. The scallop circle is Chocolate Chip, and the stripes are Soft Sky & Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from High Hopes. The stamp is a House Mouse one I've had for a very long time, but he is still one of my faves! The brads are from Michael's.

Sock Monkey Mania!!

I got my new Stampin Up! stamp sets awhile ago, but with the start of the school year, my crafting has been in a bit of a lull. I am planning my first workshop of the season for next Friday & I really wanted to use the new sets Sock Monkey & Sock Monkey Accessories. SOOO Cute!! And for any of you who had Sock Monkeys growing up, you can relate to the "odd cuteness" about the monkeys!!! I made a few, trying to decide which to use at the workshop, and these were my choices. I won't tell you which one I chose - cuz it's a surprise!! This first one is a TOTAL case from someone on SCS - Thanks Patti Lee!!! The base is Riding Hood Red, then Barely Banana (I stamped the banana accessory all over in Barely Banana ink); I layered the circles with Riding Hood Red and white, then cut out the monkey's head and attached him to the white circle. I stamped the grey with Linen Background, then stamped the monkey's head to give him that "sock" texture. I paper pieced his mouth, attached the birthday hat and a pom pom. The sentiment is from Celebrate everything (SU).
The card base is Going Gray, then Riding Hood Red, then Bella Rose DP. This one I did the same with the monkey, stamped the grey with Linen Background, then stamped the monkey. I paper pieced the grey part of his body & glued it on. I also paper pieced his mouth. The sentiment is from the Sock Monkey set.
This card is a very basic layout - as I thought it would give the girls some freedom to put whatever they wanted in the monkey's hand & choose an appropriate sentiment. Same colours were used & I did the same thing with his body as the card above.

Thanks for checking out my monkeys!!!! (LOL)
