Karen's Doodles USA Challenge card.....

This week the challenge at Karen's Doodles USA Challenge blog is a sketch. Here it is! I think this sketch works great with Karen's images...it really showcases them!!! LOVE it!!!!!

And here is my card:

It is for my nephew who is having his Confirmation at the beginning of May, so Karen's Confirmation set was PERFECT!!!! You get 5 digi images (3 girls, 2 boys) for only $12! GREAT deal!!!! I also bought the Holy Communion set because many of my students have their First Communion this year so I thought I would make them each a bookmark using the images!
I am also going to use these images for the invitations to the Sacramental Lunch the school puts on for all the students who have had a sacrament in the last year!!!

The card base is black, with a Brilliant Blue layer. The Cross (Verve Stamps) was stamped on black with gold ink. I tried to cover it with Crystal Effects but it looked stupid....so this is the THIRD cross I stamped and cut out..ugh!!! LOL I am really happy with how it turned out, it is simple but perfect for a 10 year old boy!!! Inside it says "May God bless you on your special day" (SU) I coloured the boy with Copics and it took me a long time to get the hair colour right! It is still a bit too blonde for Brody, but that's ok, I am SURE he won't notice!!!!
Thanks for popping in!!! Wish me luck!!!!

Simon Says....Let's go to the movies!!! and Dry Embossing

This week's theme at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog is "Let's Go To The Movies" and DRY EMBOSSING ~~ I don't know about you but I love going to the movies! Too bad it is sooooo expensive!!!!! The last movie we saw was Hot Tub Time Machine - it was funny but not worth the $23 we spent to go to it!! LOL The BEST movie I've seen so far that WAS worth the money, was Avatar!! OMG, that movie was AWESOME!!!!! Anyone else see it and LOVE it? Anyone hate it??

Anyway, on to my project for this week!! I have used a LOT of Tim Holtz products this week!!!
I made a card and a gift card holder. The stamp set I used was a Tim Holtz set called "At the Movies"...it is GREAT!!!! I also used Tim Holtz film strip ribbon - which is really neat! It feels just like real filmstrip.....it isn't soft like "ribbon".....it is TOTALLY cool stuff!!!! I distressed using Distress Inks (Walnut) as well. The D'vine swirls folder for my Cuttlebug is used on the gift card holder. I of course had to add Tilda, so she could showcase the movie ticket!!! LOL You can get ALL of the stuff I used at the Simon Says Stamp Superstore!!!!

Our challenge for you this week is SOMETHING MAGICAL!!!! Sooo many GREAT images out there, so this week we are showcasing BEARY DUST STAMPS. You can find these GREAT images at Stitchy Bear Stamps !!! This image is called LOVE FAIRY, isn't she gorgeous? I had so much fun colouring her!!! I used my Twinkling H2Os, stickles, rhinestones and my Sakura gelly roll stardust pen!!! The cardstock is Bazzill Basics - apricot, and the DP is from an adhesive mat pack I got a long time ago from DCWV! I coloured her with Copics!

Head on over to INCY WINCY DESIGNS to see what the rest of the Design Team came up! We all got to use different fairies, so be sure to check out the great selection at Stitchy Bear Stamps!!!! Karen's Doodles USA Challenge card

This card is being entered into Karen's Doodles USA challenge. The theme is something old, something new! I found this rose charm that I have had FOREVER, I think it was from a charm bracelet I bought at a flea market!! The something new is the designer paper I just got....which I love cuz it is my favourite colours!!!! This image is Rosie Loves to Dance, and I coloured her with Copics. The sentiment is from a Clear Dollar Stamps set called Cute Critters.

Off to dinner with the in-laws.......so have a great evening!! THIS is my SECOND post for the day, so please scroll down to see the other post!!! THANKS!!

The Corrosive Challenge Blog - Textures

This weeks theme at The Corrosive Challenge blog is TEXTURE!!!! I love texture, and my first instinct was to do dry embossing but decided to try something different. So, I dusted off my bottles of FUN FLOCK to create a fuzzy dog!!!!!! I hope you can see the fuzz!!!! LOL

This image is by Mo Manning. I coloured it with Koh-i-noor pencils and Baby Oil Gel, added some stickles and a heart shaped rhinestone for the dog's tag. The papers were in my "too pretty to throw away" box so I used them together on top of Razzleberry CS (SU). The ribbon is from PTI.

I hope you will join us this week! Can't wait to see your textures you create!!!! So many fun ones to play with......have fun!!!!!

Karen's Doodles Challenge.....

This week at Karen's Doodles UK Challenge blog, the challenge is a recipe: 3 embellies, 2 papers and 1 image. My 3 embellies are Polar White flower soft, a button and the ribbon. The papers are from my newest stack of Basic Grey - Green at Heart! This image is from Karen's Doodles and is called "I didn't do it" - funny eh? The sentiment is computer generated.

I am sending this card to my niece & her fiancee because they just got a puppy. Carla, if you are reading this before you get the card....SURPRISE!!! LOL I know what she is going through because Minty is only 6 months old and she wasn't trained at all before we got her! One good thing about Minty is that she sleeps through the night!!!!

I am entering this into the challenge this week - I wasn't sure if I'd make it cuz I was on holidays last week, but I had some time today to play in my craft room!!! I am hoping to get the USA challenge done too but not so sure!!! I am sad that I missed the Blog hops though!! Next time!!!!

Wish me luck!!!!

Our trip to the West Coast

Tim & I took a little vacation to the West coast! We drove to BC & went and spent some time with his Dad on Vancouver Island. They live on 11 acres in the rain forest outside of Victoria, BC. BEAUTIFUL!!!! After that, we headed to Vancouver and spent some time there too! Here are a few pictures of our trip....nothing crafty today!!!!!

Baby Bear die cuts

I made this card using the Baby Bear die cuts from Die Cut Dreams. I was a little hesitant to buy some of these because I wasn't sure I would use them. But after I coloured up this one, with my chalks (just basically added chalk to the creases to give dimension) and used my white pen for highlights, I am glad I did! Isn't he ADORABLE??? I got enough die cut pieces for 5 boy bears and 5 girl bears and the quality of card stock is awesome - nice thick card stock! I also bought some dog and cat ones and some other bears! I couldn't resist, they are TOO cute!!!! So keep an eye out on my blog for more creations using those!!!!! The sentiment is from Papertrey Inks Bitty Baby Blessings set and the Congratulations ribbon I've had in my ribbon bin for a long time!!!

Tim & I just got home from a little vacation & had a great time! We came home a day early cuz we missed the dogs too much!!! LOL We left a rainy West Coast and came home to a raging BLIZZARD!!! LOVELY!!!! Power has been on and off all day!! UGH!!!!!

I will try to get caught up on my blog visiting......if the power holds out!!! Bear with me (no pun intended!! LOL)

Thanks for hanging out with me!!!
